Overall a great boot. Really awesome looking. The boot was very wide. I sometimes have a hard times in boots and order medium to wide for width. These were very roomy. Very good quality.
After an injury left me in the EU for weeks hobbling on a cane, these shoes became my only pair - they had to do for work and limping to the grocery. They handled the duty far better than most. With some polish, the cap toe looks business-like enough under dress pants, and the sole held up to everything from cobbles to gravel. The wrapped heel has frayed in a few places, but, again, few shoes can hold up to weeks of daily wear in all conditions. They're not investment shoes, but if you need a very flexible shoe to meet a wide range of conditions, this may be what you're looking for.
These boots are my favorite go-to-footwear. I was somewhat reluctant to buy chukka style boots because I wasn't sure that I would like them coming up close to my ankle. However, these boots are extremely comfortable. I am often on my feet teaching classes and I'm very happy with how comfortable these boots are. I also love the look. They have a simple and somewhat rugged look with a dull, oiled-leather finish that takes on a scuffed up look after a few weeks of wear. I suppose if that's not your thing you could take a cloth and a little oil and keep them looking more new, but I really like the rustic look that these boots take on over time. I have gotten a lot of positive comments and inquiries about these boots.
