Salomon Reviews
I purchased these to use when walking/jogging on trails in NH (typically dirt with tons of rocks), they are OK, I wouldn't purchase again for that purpose, although they are very comfortable for around town. I'm not happy with that amount of dirt that gets in the shoe, especially since they don't have great airflow. The grip on rocks is not the best, which is surprising because it shows Contagrip which is what is on the bottom of my Salomon XA 3D Ultra shoes and those are very good on rocks. One other thing is that on the inside of the shoe it seems like there was a bit of extra material which they folded over into a little flap. This piece of fabric is right at the widest part of your food so it's very annoying (may just be in the size 9s). I was able to adjust it so it wasn't as irritating, but I thought the quality would be a bit better.
Love these shoes! I am a Jazzercise instructor & these shoes are very comfortable. I also get tons of compliments on them! I did order a size smaller as suggested & they're perfect, thanks Zappos customers!

Ignore my previous review! I'm an idiot! I still love the sole, and the trick lace system, yes. But I've discovered that these aren't as narrow as I thought... user error. The really trick lace system is super effective. Once I loosened the laces down near the widest part of my foot, I discovered that these shoes are okay. Not super wide but definitely more comfortable than my earlier review advised. Sorry guys! TM

Nice shoes. Great soles. Love the shoelace system. But be warned...the Wide is by no means Wide. When I first tried them on, I thought the wrongs shoes had been sent, but I found a hangtag on one lace that says "Wide" so I guess they are as ordered...although I can't find any "W" or "E" marking inside the shoe, on the model or near the Size marker.
Lightweight and comfy. The lace design took some time to get comfortable with. I think someone else may have pointed this out, but the tongue is NOT gusseted...not sure why Saloman would bother claiming that the tongue was.
Really cute, but two improvements would make these five star: 1) the fabric on the heel liner is rough and it should be smooth; 2) the little doo dad on the laces is virtually impossible to loosen. Easy to tighten -- hard to loosen.
Good hiking boots, used them straight out of the box on a 2 week hiking trip, with no blisters or other problems. Good support. Nice and roomy toe box. The sole seems to be stiffer around the edge of the shoe than in the middle, and after long hikes, the outer edge of my foot would be more sore than the rest of my foot, from walking on that firmer sole. The quick lacing mechanism is really awesome, making the boots super quick & easy to get on/off, although needs occasional tightening on long hiking days.
Like everyone who has commented prior. I honestly never thought I would ever ever own something this perfect. First, it is built like a Ferrari and a Tank. The spikes are soft and that provides a perfect blend of super sticky crawls for off roading and the soft cushion spikes also works well for even running on pavement by the Great Lake. Second, although the price is steep after owning it for a month and running daily, I must say it is worth every single penny and more. And yes, it is a head turner but a super functional and perfect for everything head turner. Goes well with jeans and even works something easy like 5.10c or V5 climbing when I teach my rock climbing students.
These are so comfortable. They have a roomy toe box, great arch support, fun colors. I love them. I have two pairs. One color ran bigger than the other.
I love the Salomon shoes, I have several pairs for different seasons, and normally they run big, these just run a little big. So I normally order a 8.5 (in Salomon) even though I normally wear a 9. This time I accidentally ordered a 9 and I have to say they are actually good. I don't think that an 8.5 would be a necessary exchange. The shoe is light, comfortable, moderate arch support. Removable and washable insoles. Definitely a great shoe and a great purchase. I wish Zappo's carried the other color that they came in too!
Great shoe. I am over-pronated. After a 30 minute 2.5 mile walk or 30 minute treadmill run, no pain in heel or arch area. Will order another pair.
This is the best fitting athletic shoe I have ever worn. I love the arch support and the colors are vibrant. I am extremely happy.

This is my fourth pair of Salomon walking/hiking shoes and I do like them. However, they are very stiff and have taken awhile to break in. After about a month, they are now more flexible in the top but I am going to try to by the other style again next time I need new shoes.
These shoes are very comfortable. I normally wear a size 4 in ladies dress shoes, but I ordered a size 5 since they are running shoes and they are just right with some extra space in the toe. I really like the way they snug up around your feet when tightened. The laces have taken a little getting used to, but now I'm able to get in and out of the shoes without much adjustment. The insole is very cushy. Unlike some other brands I tried, I was able to wear these right out of the box without getting any blisters or fatigue in my arches. They cost a bit more, but I believe they're worth it.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn and every time I wear them someone comments on how much they like them and inquire as to the brand and where I purchased them.
These are really comfortable, even if the laces take some getting used to. The reason I had to return them is that the platform the shoes sit on top of is very wide. It is so wide that when I walk, the bottoms rub up against each other. This may not be a problem for taller gals, but I am 5'4" and when I walked, I had the moving foot hitting the other foot's shoe. It's a shame because they are cute and comfortable.
I had to return these shoes because they felt a full size larger than my normal size. I have narrow feet and these seems to be best for someone with a medium to wide foot. Too bad because I really like they way they look.

This pair is my second pair of Salomons from Zappos. This pair is a different style than my original pair. I like them because they fit like a glove and I have been able to discontinue using my Ortho inserts in these shoes. I do a lot of walking 3+miles daily and they have hurt my feet occasionally. The Zappos representatives have been helpful, courteous, efficient and I will place more orders through Zappos with confidence in the future.
This is the second pair of this style I have purchased. The shoes are super comfortable, easy to put on quickly with the cinching system, and I like this color combination.
Lightweight trail shoes. I run on paved surface before I get to the trails so I like it that they are more of a 'hybrid' shoe. they run a little large. I usually run in a 7.5 and my Salomon are a size 7.
This is my first pair of Solomon shoes. At first I thought the toe box was a bit tight but after wearing them for a few days, I'm surprised at how well they fit. The quick laces work very well and my heel stays snugly in place. The grip is amazing. They are completely waterproof (so long as you're less than ankle deep) and the overall fit & finish is top notch. Time will tell how well they hold up but so far so good.
