Revo Reviews
These glasses are huge. They are more like goggles than glasses, and are faintly ridiculous outside of a sporty setting, especially with the blue "water" lens. My wife told me I am not allowed to wear them out in public, which is OK because I bought them for sea kayaking. So, if you want to look at all attractive to other human beings, don't wear these. That said, these are the 3rd pair of Revos I own and they are stellar performers. The others have glass lenses, and these plastic lenses are noticeably lighter. I had these down on the beach on a bright sunny day and compared them to a pair of Native glasses with blue "reflex" lenses. The Revos are brighter and maintain more natural color. You can really notice the difference a hundred bucks makes. The lenses may be too tall for my face, I haven't decided yet. They rest on my cheeks and eyebrows, which might be a deal breaker. I have a medium sized face, kinda skinny Eastern European.
My first experience with Zappos, and I must say that they came through with everything they promised, I received these glasses so quickly, and it was around the Holidays. I thought there was no way they would be able to get them to me so quickly. I am a fan for life. Love the glasses too! third pair of a discontinued model, now I have all the colors that were available, and because of Zappos at a very reasonable price!!!
Pros: Extremely light, stylish, good lens Cons: Nose pieces can't be adjusted. The lens (because of rimless) touch face - uncomfortable and feel like cutting after a while.
Great shades. Love the color of the lenses. If you were to buy new glasses and looking at Revo, go with these. Price is a little higher than someone would want to spend, 3/5 for price.
I've owned lots of Revo and other top quality glasses. This pair is the best I've owned. The clarity and filtration are great.
Buyer beware, After writing several reviews about products good and bad on this website and never getting posted i have little faith in the review sections of Zappos. These sunglasses look and feel great but in other websites reviews they have a problem as i found out first hand. They crack at the stress point on the lens. After getting the runaround from Oakley which owns revo this problem might not be covered under warranty and if they are will take 4-5 weeks to replace at $60.00. I've found Maui Jim Customer service to be a lot more easier to deal with.
Revo's lenses are the best I've ever seen through. Brighter and crisper than Maui Jim in my opinion. The brown polarized lenses open your eyes to a whole new world while driving or doing any water-based activity. Very lightweight, I always compared these to Maui Jim's "Lighthouse" which are also very light but seem more flimsy than the Revo's. Revo makes sunglasses that are more hardy and durable than Maui Jim, which are more for style in my opinion.
I've been using Revo sunglasses for the past 12 years or so, they have the best polarized lenses and quality fabrication. These particular sunglasses are great for really bright (snow or beach) days and are very comfortable to wear.
The coolest shades on the planet - the lens cuts glare - the blue mirror and the clear frames look fantastic. Very unique!
Just great - cuts glare and looks cool. My wife appropriated my pair - she looks like a movie star wearing these! I wanted another pair but Z's is out.
I bought a pair of Revo Guide with water lens to use when sailing. These are the most comfortable sunglasses I have ever owned. The clarity is amazing, and after a day on the water my eyes are much less tired compared with other similarly priced sunglasses I've had before.
Lenses are far too scratched up after only one year of moderate wear. I would not buy this make again.
Really like the glasses - I've been away from Revo's for 10+ years because of the high price, and have been wearing the same pair of Scott's for the last decade. When my Scott's were in the shop getting repaired (for free), I went shopping for a new pair and decided to update my style with some aviator style glasses. These were the best fitting, looking pair out of the hundreds I tried on - with amazing lenses. My favorite thing about Revo's is their spring hinges - instead of stretching to fit your head (mine is a tad on the watermelon side), they just spring to fit. These glasses are amazing - last week when I forget to bring my sports glasses to play a round of golf I wore these instead - and almost forgot they were on. No slippage, and amazingly light. I highly recommend. I do wish Revo had a better warranty program like Smith - for the price you pay you would expect a lifetime of service. However, shopping with Zappos helps at least fill a little of that gap because of their great service.
Just bought the black and orange from Sunglasses Hut. They are having clearance prices (currently cheaper than Zappos) so I had to go get them today. Well, if you do decide you want a pair of these Grand Sixties, I would say go for it. The hinges are well made and the lens is light. Although the frames are not metal, they still seem very strong and able to handle some bruising. I'm really happy with this pair and the look great. I don't think I'm going to buy sunglasses from another Brand again...unless they're cheaper. I'll still say though, the advantage to getting these from Zappos is that you have a full 365 day return if you don't end up liking them. I like them, and so I picked them up on sale at a local store with a lesser return policy.
Great sunglasses, the Bronze Lens is perfect for streams and lakes. I also have the Stern with the Water Lens which is better for salt water. Light weight, full coverage and comfortable. As always, great service from Zappos and super fast shipping.
The fit and balance of these are perfect for active sports -- and the lens is crystal clear and allows for nearly perfect vision despite the dark lens color. Glare seems to be zero. I forget I have them on. Highly recommended for sports. The "thrive" size works for me as a girl better than the Belay -- which is too big.
First off I've been a very happy revo user for over 15 years. To me and I'm very sensitive to light. And the quality of the lens is everything! Well, I just upgraded my old h2os to these new Transmit with pewter bio-titanium frames and cobalt lens. They are fantastic!
I bought a second pair of the glasses for my wife because the lenses are simply the best. We couldnt imagine life without the brown lenses.
Great Revos! The colors - super in red and graphite. Hug your head and will not move or fall off. Super comfortable and easy to wear on your forehead when inside so you don't leave them on a restaurant table or at someone's house. I've had other Revos over they ears and I think I have loved each pair more than the last. Buy these, you won't regret it (especially after everyone you know keeps wanting them, too!).
