About New Balance
New Balance began as a Boston-based arch support company in the early 1900s, developed into a specialized manufacturer of shoes in the 1970s, and has grown to become a leading global athletic products company. Today New Balance is a family of brands including New Balance, Dunham, PF Flyers, Aravon, Warrior and Brine.
Since the days of selling arch supports to police officers and waiters, New Balance has been a brand concerned with meeting the needs of the everyday athlete. In pursuing this goal, they developed an "Endorsed By No One" philosophy, which holds that a superior product will sell itself better than any superstar athlete ever could. Part of producing New Balance shoes and athletic clothing is manufacturing it to fit all widths and sizes, because a better fit produces better performance.
To ensure the best fitting, best performing shoes and clothes, New Balance focuses on improving their technology and production methods. A big part of that is maintaining five manufacturing facilities here in the United States where they continue to produce New Balance shoes and apparel that meet the standards they've employed for 100 years. They have also remained committed to a core set of values that include integrity, teamwork and total customer satisfaction.
New Balance Reviews
from Viera, FL
As a female, to find a running shoe with a narrow heel and wide toe box is always difficult. I have been buying Asics Nimbus for years, I wear a size 9 to 9/1/2 in women's, so in men's Nimbus I bought a 7.5 EE or even a 7.5 4EE in men's. In the past, the nimbus was nice and round on the toe box for my big toe, but I could tighten it down on my laces to keep my foot in place. However, this last model of Nimbus, they tapered the toe box even more than last model, making the shoe terrible for rubbing my big toe even in a men's 8.5 EE. After 12 pairs of shoes sent back and forth from Zappos.com (thanks for not cutting me off!) I ended up with these NB 840V2 in a women's 9.5 D width. I can't believe that they are actually a bit too wide in a D, but I love the toe room. They have the forefoot cushion I loved in the Nimbus, great cushion all around, yet the sole is wide enough that it acts a bit like a stability shoe, keeping me from pronating or supinating. Finally the search is over. I highly recommend these shoes for those heavy runners who want to run on a cloud.
I have waited years for this shoe to be sold in this color in my 11AA size. Thank you New Balance for making it, and Zappos for selling it.
Shoes good quality, so light, compare with Skechers similar model. During day you not feel you have shoes. Sole is skid resistant, they looks like regular sneakers but it safety shoes.
