Josef Seibel

I'm an avid Birkenstock fan, if I'm wearing anything at all. I've probably owned 5 or more pairs, and still presently do. My grandfather gave me a pair of Seibel mules years ago that I adored and wore through. Those memories made me take another look at Seibel. These sandals are just as comfy as the mules I remember. I can walk in them forever, on most any condition and feel like I'm walking on clouds. Large gravel tens to poke through, but its rare to come across that. These are only casual shoes, I wear them year round (with socks), and I love them. My only concern is the sole is some funky material. It feels awesome and everything is awesome so far. They seem like they may wear down easier then a typical rubber sole. Wait and see-

BEST shoes ever! I buy lots of shoes but none have felt as good as my Seibel Debra. Even funnier, my name is Debra! These shoes offer great support. I can walk all day in them! I bought them in navy and will now order them in black.

Extremely cute. Pretty comfortable. More comfortable in the heel area than the toe/ball of foot. Foot tends to slide toward the toe. The toe area could use more cushion/support.

The first pair of Josef Seibel Claudia's that I bought were like heaven on my feet. Not only my feet, but my whole body. I have issues with my hips and knees, so my choice in shoes is paramount to my entire body's comfort. These shoes were perfect. When they wore out -- after 5 or 6 years -- I recently purchased the new version and I am just as pleased. They molded to my feet, they are light-weight, and they are so very comfortable to wear all day.

Loved the look of this shoe. Originally ordered a size up as recommended by the only review on this site. It was HUGE. I normally wear a size 38 but ordered the 39. Like most Seibels the sandal was roomy in the toe box but almost fine in the heel. It's a nicely cushioned sandal but perhaps not for heavy duty walking. But with the adjustable strap, this sandal had potential. So I re-ordered but only red and size 37 was available. It arrived the very next day (thanks again, Zappos). The length is fine and the toebox generous but comfy. The right side felt like it had something in it sticking my pronating instep. Indeed, there was a pleat sewn into the leather on this particular sandal so it was NOT smooth. The red was not bright as in the photo but a dull red. So this one, the last at Zappos will be heading back! Bummer...

I read all the reviews and liked the style so I was hoping these shoes would fit like a glove, as so many stated. They actually felt a little wide (I wear a 9½ medium but sometimes a narrow). But these shoes made my feet look very wide. All of that I could have lived with but for one thing: the shoes seemed to be pressing down on my big toes and pinching. That was something that I did not see written anywhere - and I do not have big toes. I hope I can find more stylish yet comfortable walking shoes. So far I have had pretty good luck with Zappos so I will keep trying.

These shoes were much more attractive online than on my feet. I have slightly enlarged bunions that were somehow emphasized by the shoes' side cutout. Maybe the cutout would work for someone else to alleviate pressure on the bunion joint. On my feet, the shoes looked like old lady shoes. Although I am not young, I can still find comfortable shoes that are more flattering.

I was really drawn to the style of this Seibel. Seibel's seem to vary greatly in sizing from style to style and typically like most Euro made shoes, have narrower toes, wider heels. This one seemed to be the opposite. Unfortunately, one of the areas of the "x" accent on the inner heel area of the right side, did not sit flush and was digging into the side of my ankle at that point. As someone else wrote, the little toe was not covered by the strap area. Disappointing in a well-made, lightweight, leather shoe. Zappos does have an amazing selection and great service.

I have owned Seibel on/off for many years. It always seemed like most Euro brands to be well made and comfortable but oddly inconsistent from style to style. Since I have fussy feet (plantar issues on/off; pronation; narrow heels, wider toe box; thin, now wobblier ankles), I look for a lot of adjustability and overall support. This one almost fit the bill. I loved the quality of the leather, breathable lining and the straps hugged my foot well. The velcro strap over the top of the foot which made for a lot of flexibiity for support purposes. Overall a great fit but for my little toe not being covered by the straps. Too bad. This would have been a keeper but for that. There is moderate arch support and the sole was pliant so I think this would have been good for a moderate amount of city walking. I frequently and a lot, usually wearing Brooks Addictions with custom orthotics inserted. These Seibels would have been fine for everyday wear but not heavy duty walks.

Great walking shoes. Only thing I'd change is the white stitching down the middle and around the edges. Makes them a little too casual for some work outfits (suits). They are definitely medium width. I wear them with smart wool socks on my narrow feet and they are okay.

These are the most adorable sneakers I have seen in years, even surpassing looks offered by Camper. But the sizing is awful. These sneakers basically come in a: "if you can guess it, you can get it" size. If you look carefully at the size chart, you will see that a Seibel's 37 is 6-6.5 and a 38 is 7-7.5. I bought both having no idea what would work. Well, the 6-6.5 37 is truly a 6.5-7. The 38 is truly an 8. Therefore, there is no size 7 or 7.5. I don't know if this crazy gap in sizes occurs with the other sizes, but my size, 7.5 - 8 is average and if the company can mess that up, well. As you might gather, I am very disappointed. And, wounded: the shoes literally tore the backs of my heels into bloody disasters that weeks later are only just beginning to heal. And what about my toes? You don't want to know.

I love this shoe. It is very comfortable and cute at the same time. Josef Seibel always makes a good shoe. Love them so much I ordered another similar style!

This shoe is cute and comfortable, I wore it inside my house for several days before taking it to Europe but it doesn't have enough cushioning for Greek cobbled streets unbearable for walking--I ended up wearing my running shoes all the time--I had hoped that this would be my out-to-dinner shoe for the trip, but it didn't work out. I'll enjoy wearing it at home, though.

I absolutley love this shoe. The only downside at all is that the color seems to be only lightly brushed on because when I tried to wipe off a spot I wiped off the color too. Just be careful!

These shoes are very pretty, but as much as I have tried to break them in with socks, they are still not comfortable. I try to loosen the Velcro, but when I finally get them comfortable enough to wear without socks...ouch, still hurt feet. Won't buy Josef Seibel again.

I love these shoes! I buy them, wear them to the nub, and then buy a new pair. I originally found them in a department store, but now just keep buying them from Zappos every six months or so.

Thanks to Zappos shipping, I was able to find the perfect fit in this shoe. Having owned the Pamela, also from Josef Seibel, for years, I was glad to find this shoe. The little metal accent makes an otherwise functional look a little prettier. The toe box is roomy, no blisters. There is some limited arch support and the insole comes off and can be replaced with custom insoles. I've had this shoe a few months now and couldn't be happier.

I am crazy about these shoes - I have been looking for a work appropriate (closed toe) summer shoe with a low heel, in neutral and this is perfect. Comfortable from day 1. As a New Yorker, I am constantly walking and I can wear these shoes all day with no breaking in and not feel like I have to rip them off at the end of the day.

I love these shoes. They are a bit clunkier than I'd hoped, but they still look cute and feel like I'm walking on air.
