These boots are incredibly comfortable! They felt like I'd been wearing them for years right out of the box! They look super cool too, I feel like I could beat somebody up in these boots and look really good doing it.

These are the perfect fall boots. I bought them for casual weekending but have been dressing them up at the office and they work beautifully both ways. They fit perfectly with thin socks, and are a bit snug with thick socks. One week in and the leather had already started to form to my feet. I almost want to buy another pair. I'd recommend them for sure.

16 inch calf? Uh-uh. I'm a 16 inch calf and I couldn't get these anywhere close to zipped up. These are 14-inchers, maybe.

Great color and style; not a great fit. I was excited to find a wide-calf boot in this color, but the shaft is huge. I even went down half a size and it still didn't fit.

I bought these after reading reviews that they fit 17" calves for other buyers but I found these boots to be a little snug on my 16.5 " calves, although I considered sending them back for that reason I decided to keep them and they are super cute, a little cheap looking though so I hope they last.

I like them a lot. They run a little big, depends on how thick of socks you have on. Good for people with wide feet.

Very comfy, but runs much smaller than I would expect in an XL.

The main thing to like about this boot is the styling. You sacrifice a little in the comfort department, but let me explain it piece by piece. First off, these boots are made in Portugal, they re very elegant, and they sport that Old World craftsmanship that s very attractive to 19-century-loving hipsters. The quality is excellent, the stitching, soles and leather are all very good, and the screws in the bottom are actually painted rubber. After doing hours of research on Zappos, I was determined to fit into the medium width (though my foot is a little wide and at the time I believe they were also offered in wide). After a week of breaking them in, I managed it! The next thing I looked for was a sturdy sole, and I picked these shoes in large part because the soles looked so durable. The downside? The heel is a little hard and uncomfortable at first. I switched out the original insoles (which have zero support) with a pair of Dr. Scholl s, which I cut to fit using the originals as a stencil. The custom insoles fit perfectly and added comfort, though I was surprised to see my cut went up to 11 on the insoles size chart (the boots are a 10). The boots fit very true to size however, a US 10 being an exact European 43. They do run a bit narrow, but this is all part of the European styling. (I have feet that are both flat and wide, and after a week s wear, they fit me comfortably.) They also provide excellent arch support, with the arch of the foot hanging over the sole and onto a piece of doubly reinforced leather. The only other thing I did to these boots before wearing them was condition the leather with a $9 cream I bought at my local camping store (you can get these anywhere, incl. on Zappos). I ve been wearing the boots for 3 weeks now, I m still breaking them in, but I m super satisfied with them! To recap, the top 3 reasons to get them are: 1.) Styling; 2.) Durability; 3.) Craftsmanship. The top 3 drawbacks are: 1.) Comfort (a touch narrow); 2.) Comfort (hard sole); 3.) Comfort (no insole protection). P.S. For something similar with less styling and more comfort, you could probably try the ECCO Turn GTX or the Clarks Stratton Limit. Cheers! (^_^)

Love at first sight. These boots not only look amazing, the are super comfortable and did not require any breaking in. Instant comfort. Highly recommended. Look great with skinny or slim pants.

Type Z Boots are great looking, I've been through several pairs, (including one that was a different brand but obviously the same shoe). I just really wish they were better constructed, and did not fall apart after a few months.

Boot is comfortable and very stylish. Had no problem with laces like previous review. Only con is I wish there was more of a heel on boot.

Great looking and comfortable boot. Flexible sole right out of the box. Not a work boot, more of a casual wear that can probably be worn with casual business attire too. I wear a size 8, ordered 1 size smaller and it fits just right. Boot runs large, so order a size smaller to fit.

First time ordering from Zappo's and I was not disappointed. Love these boots. Have already received several compliments on them. They look great, feel great and are true to size. Thinking about ordering another pair in black.

These shoes are amazing. I love the look of them and the details but unfortunately they were a bit to narrow for my feet (I wear an 11.5). The 12's were big but the 11's were too small in the toe box area as it put a bad strain on the outside of my feet. I had to forego them but I think they'd make an excellent choice for footwear if anyone was interested in buying them just make sure you try them out first. 2 hours of walking on carpeted floors.

Surprisingly light. Color looks good with almost anything. The back has a nice blue accent which stands out more than your standard chukka. The leather laces are bit annoying but looks very good. Overall very happy with the purchase.

These are great boots. They are not heavy and actually quite comfortable. I am a 9 and they fit perfectly. The wide calf fits great, but isn't too big.

Super cute. My calves are 17 1/2 at the widest part and these have plenty of room with no weird bunching at the ankles like I usually get. I'm 5'3 and these are a little past mid-calf so if you're taller, they're on the shorter side. They feel kind of cheaply made so I'm not sure how long they'll last but they're what I was expecting for the price. They're really cute, color is exactly what I wanted. Super excited to wear them.

I thought these boots looked awesome! and was happy that they fit around my larger calf. Unfortunately I couldn't get beyond the fact the just felt "plastic-y." From a distance probably look like real leather but close not so much.

They are nice looking boots and are pretty comfortable as well. I can't wait until they are broken in and the leather softens up some. Don't get me wrong. The leather isn't as stiff as some shoe I've had. I just think that the wear will make them even more attractive and comfortable. So far I have gotten no blisters.

Received these today. (I'm always very impressed with Zappos' speedy deliveries.) They are good looking boots, and they fit fine. I think they'd be comfortable without breaking in. I'm a little concerned about the loop in the back. This makes it very easy to get these boots on, but it also makes the leg of my jeans stick out a bit. I might return them for a boot that's cut a little lower and with no back loop.

To be honest, love the shoes! And it helps too that the Harry Porter loving CSO added the special touch to cater my query in regards to the size. No regrets. In fact, I'm contemplating buying the other color. Hahah! Keep up the good work!
