In the 1990s, Timex vigorously pursued its long tradition of technological innovation and market leadership. The company introduced the industry's first electroluminescent watch face in 1992, when the blue-green Indiglo® night light appeared on some of its digital and analog watches. Today, more than 75 percent of all Timex watches are equipped with the Indiglo night light®. The All-Day Indiglo® display, using a hologram-like material, provides greater contrast between digital numbers and the display background. In 1994, Timex introduced the Data Link® watch, a sophisticated wrist instrument that carries scheduling, phone numbers, and other personal information, having collaborated with Microsoft to create the necessary software to communicate the data from computer to watch. In 1998, Timex pioneered its i-Control™ turn n pull analog alarm watch and, in a joint venture with Motorola, a new wrist pager called Beepwear®.
Today, the Timex Corporation is the nation's leading watch manufacturer. With a large and varied line of watches, Timex has the style for everyone. From the locker room to the board room, there is a great Timex style time-piece for you.

I played around with other contact heart rate monitor watches at stores, but when I got this from Zappos, I was most impressed. It is very easy to set up, looks good, seems to be of good quality construction and responds quickly by touch. It seems to be pretty accurate on the heart rate. One's heart rate is always changing with your activity level, so of course it is going to be all over the board at any given time. But my resting heart rate on this watch is just what my Dr.'s office reads as well. I find that the response is quicker when I lay my opposite wrist across the watch face. I am very happy and will use it often.

I bought this to follow my heart rate for hiking. After some time to test this . . . it works fine as long as I am not sweating. When I sweat, it starts beeping sporadically and does not show me my heart rate when it most matters. Someone told me they bought a watch for $200 and it works perfectly. I guess you get what you pay for.

I purchased the watch so that I could track calories burned during workouts. The watch is great, the heart rate monitor seems accurate, however the calorie tracker is way off...it says I'm burning hundreds more calories than I could possibly be. Unfortunately, this watch will be returned.
