Very good sneaker!!! I bought these because I had a heel spur and my other sneakers were killing me. I immediately felt better with these and two weeks later the heel spur was completely gone!

My order arrived September 17, 2014. By January 13, 2015 both linings and fabric at the back of the shoe has worn through. There is a hole about the size of a nickel. The white plastic pieces at the heel are showing and dig into my heel as a walk. And I wear these comfortable shoes only a few hours a day. I don't use them for running or exercise walking. I switched from one of the biggest-name brands just to try a different brand, but I have never had any shoe ever become unwearable so soon.

I like the comfort and ventilation of running shoes so I got the all black Scorpius for casual wear in public and to get away with wearing at my desk job. I have not used this shoe for running. Initially I was very pleased with the comfort and appearance but 8 months after purchase the sole has started to peel away on the edges. Far worse though is the squeak that has developed. It is bad enough that I feel like a practical joke is being played on me with every step I take. I will no longer be able to wear this shoe in public. Given that I specifically purchased these shoes for low wear use I wonder how well the shoes would have held up had I actually used it for running. If I had to listen to that squeak for every step of a distance race, I think I would go nuts.

I'm an RN who works 12 hour shifts and I've been wearing New Balance 928's for years. It's a decent shoe but recently I've had surgery on my right foot and they just didn't cut it anymore. This shoe was definitely a step up in comfort. I'm pleased.

I have worn only Spira spring technology shoes for the last five years. They take away the knee pain. The industrial springs really work. I think they are ugly but they work. Walking pain free is worth it. The top material is too thin and wears fast. Not limping in pain is worth it. The outer sole edges can peel up and then rub making squeaky sounds. The springs can sometimes click. The squeak or click is a better sound then me saying ouch! Spira can improve the style, fabric material, leather, rubber, and glue. I hope they do soon. However, even if they do not, being fully pain free makes these shoes the only option. No matter how many I wear out, I will just keeping buying them and moving about. Pain free. Of course, Zappos' service is amazing.

I was disappointed in these shoes. They look big and clunky and for such big shoes you would expect to at least have some toe room and comfort in exchange for the loss of sleek style. However, they HURT! The heel fit is OK. I like that they don't slip when I walk like most flats. And the footbed is a nice, springy memory foam that is easy on the soles of the feet. However the toe area and vamp are tight and the vamp digs into the top of my foot making comfort impossible. They hurt, even when I am sitting down, and I can forget trying to walk around in them. Since they are made of leather, I am considering taking them to a shoe shop to have the tops stretched, but if I do that and it doesn't do anything to relieve the pressure, they won't be returnable. And at this cost, I need to be able to return them if I end up not being able to use them. If I only had a bit more room in the toe and vamp area, I'd like them just fine, but as they are, I'm afraid these are a bust. :-(

I knew that they were too narrow the moment that I looked in the box. Problem is the toe box, which was surprising, because the other two models of this shoe I have purchased fit perfectly. I have returned them. They had a much less expensive leather model that fit well but is no longer available. One other note for frequent travelers with any Spira shoes: if you have TSA pre-check, you still have to take these off as the springs have just enough metal to set off the detectors.

Update on the "squeak." Zappos is sending me a new pair and I will return the current ones...no need to leave hubby "shoeless." Excellent service! Can confirm the shoelaces are ridiculously long...who knows why?

Husband with bad knees bought first pair on recommendation of orthopedic surgeon & wore every day for a year. Eventually wore out and developed a squeak. Second pair has unfortunately developed a squeak after just a few weeks. The shoes help him a lot even though they're not pretty. He won't let me return them.

Very comfortable shoes. You can wear these all day without your feet hurting. If you are on your feet for long periods, or heading out to shop, working out in the gym - these are the only shoes to own!

I used to buy the Odyssey. This one has a higher side which rubs against the ankle bone. Needed to leave two eyelets un laced and use arch support insert.

I am coming back for my second pair. I am on my feet all day at work plus mall walk in these shoes. I had my original pair 10 months with nary an ache in my feet! I am hard on my shoes and these shoes kept pace with me.

The dark blue circular cover for the spring in the Valencia sneaker does not work because the dark blue cover is depressed below the rest of the heel and the dark blue cover and spring does not touch the ground when walking or running. I tried to return the Spira Valencia sneaker, but the vendor refused to accept the return and told me the manufacturer does not have a guarantee. I would like to exchange the Valencia for another pair of sneakers with springs in the sole and heel if the sneaker will perform as advertised. I am trying to contact Spira, but I have not yet been successful.

I have a lot of difficulty finding shoes to fit a short, extra wide foot! While the width of these fit, they slipped on my heel...even with heavy socks. So I have to return these too.

Love these sneakers, great for summer travel. I walked all day in pure comfort! As an aside, I can't figure out what the manufacturer making items for Duck Dynasty has to do with anything; political comments have no place in a review for shoes, but I guess some individuals just can't help themselves. :)

I have been wearing a pair of black Spira's in this style for about 5 years and just now wearing out. I'm talking 5 years of standing on concrete floors all day. They are made of the best quality leather and I have problem feet and had a job at Sam's Club where I stood on my feet for 9 hours a day. These shoes saved my "job" because if I hadn't discovered these shoes I would have had to quit my job due to foot stress. I got all the other people in my department wearing these. They seemed a bit expensive at first and some of my friends hesitated, but after they saw and heard my "testimony" to the comfort of these shoes they were sold on them. I have been laid off for about 5 years now but have still continued to wear these shoes and now I am getting ready to purchase them in white so I can wear them out and about. I can't say enough good things about these shoes. I recently bought a pair of tennis shoes at a store and I was skimping that day due to something we all have "bills" so I went ahead and bought a pair of other brand shoes for $40, well you get what you pay for and I am in pain in these shoes. Spira is the only way to go if you want comfort. Forget the neon, pink, blue, chartreuse and all the other fancy athletic shoes. If you have the least bit of foot problems, or even if you don't, you will love the way these shoes can get you through a whole day with no pain.

Before buying these I was in a pair of Brooks Addiction 10's which are in the same price range. Wish I would have ordered another pair instead of these. Unboxing - they are very light weight, constructed to provide great air flow. My first impression after putting them on was "roomy." I got a size 10 wide. They fit true to size in length and seemingly in width, but not height...they are snug around my heel up my ankle but the rest of the shoe felt like I was swimming in it. After a little work I got the fit I was looking for by combining two slip in insoles. One insole is a heel to arch type the other was just a normal full size. But the two insoles raised my heel too much and was causing slipping so I chopped the heel off the full size right at where the heel starts. That gave me the snug second skin like fit I was looking for. So, in my opinion...this shoe does not fit in this price range, it's just not a "Brooks"or a "New Balance" type fit you'd expect from a shoe in this price range.

I have worn SPIRA size 5B for 4 years and always ordered 5B. These shoes have always helped my Plantar Facititis problem. Yet, I hate the idea these are considered size 6 B because these feel the same as 5B.

These shoes were comfortable and moderately supportive. However, I had mine for only about two months when the mesh part suddenly got a noticeable tear. I do not run (have difficulty walking). They are not very durable and they are expensive. I don't think they are worth the money.

These shoes are very comfortable. I stand on my feet all day as a gym special ed teacher. However, there is a big problem with them. When I started wearing them, I noticed the inside of the soles left dark, rust stains on the soles of my white or gray socks. I fixed the problem by buying thin rubber insoles and new socks, of course. The stains were permanent.

Looked REALLY cool and is cushioned well BUT look at the sole. The middle section is really thin meaning when you grab the heel and the toe of the shoe and twist it, the shoe twists easily, i.e. it lacks stability and will flex too much for anyone with fallen arches or anyone who gets achiness on the bottom of their feet - plantar fascitis (inflamed/irritated sole of the foot).
