With the ASV sole, these are a real improvement over the Authentic Originals. On sale, they are a great buy. If you need a lot of arch support, Sperry probably is not your brand.

These are the worst Top-Siders in the last 8-10 pairs that I have previously owned. The leather upper has the appearance and stiffness of a piece of cardboard. They are totally uncomfortable. I am returning them in favor of Timberland boat shoes that I just purchased.

These are similar to the suede Sperry Top Siders from the 1970's and 80's, but it has an updated sole. They look great with khakis, jeans or shorts. Highly recommend!

Getting ready, as soon as possible, to buy another pair! Over 25 years ago, I purchased a pair of TopSiders just like this, with the thick, tough leather and the padded tongue. The wear my current TopSiders received was regular, and included: - On deck sailing a Catalina 30 sailboat, in the salt water of Galveston Bay, - Around fireside in many encampments, all the way from Oklahoma to the Colorado Rockies, - For sure-footed, comfortable wear while fishing, - Water resilient protection of my feet from rocks, while canoeing rapids in streams, - As long trip driving comfort, to get out of my cowboy boots or backpacking boots, - Around my cabin for the last 2 1/2 years, while living in a remote, unmodern mountaintop cabin in the Ouachita National Forest, to complete a book on the history of the area, and - As casual wear on a date or shopping at the mall. Since I am now retired and writing history and outdoor adventure books, fulltime, I get as much from my limited budget as possible, and have re-glued the same soles to my Sperry's, at least three times. - Only now, after over 20 years, the seams have finally begun to come unstitched!

The best Sperry shoes ever. Great support and comfort. Because this model has not been a yearly offering I have purchased three pairs this year, just in case. Looks great with jeans.
