I bought this for my husband (who is always cold). This isn't like a "normal" electric blanket that gets hot, but once you get under it... be prepared to be comfy warm. Washable, no uncomfortable wires, my husband LOVES this blanket (and so does one of my dogs who throws himself on it when its turned on) auto 10 hour turn off, this blanket is fantastic. Highly recommend it

I am very happy with this blanket. I love climbing into a warm bed and my husband doesn't even have to turn his side on if he doesn't want to. It is cozy soft and very comfortable even when not turned on. Doesn't get too hot and heats very even. I love that it is low voltage and so safe. Gives me peace of mind. Thinking of buying more to have at the cabin.

Love, LOVE my warming blanket. So soft and plush, and the great thing is that the heat is gentle and doesn't ever get too hot. A great winter investment!

New Experience, never tried an electric blanket lighten the load of two quilts on my bed on my feet (twisted a knee ligament a while ago getting foot caught in heavy quilts getting up) I ordered a very good low voltage Serta king sized dual control plush electric blanket..the best. It came yesterday so I redid the bed to have a sheet on then the blanket and hooked the in line transformers that step it down to 18 volts dc to warm the blanket up to the wall power under the bed and put each controller on each night table at the head of the bed. Each controls one side of the king blanket. Turned them on to a high setting, Lo to 10 then Hi are the choices. Booklet says: set to high then tone down and adjust over several nights. It preheats the bed it says when you turn it on then goes to what you set it for the next ten hours. I set it for 6 and 30 minutes later went to bed. The blanket has a right side up way you have to use it as well which is clearly marked. It turned out to be a strange experience as you can touch the .micro wired blanket when working and you don't feet heat, wires or anything hot at all. I crawled in wondering about that and I was nice and warm, almost too warm so turned the controllers down to 4. By morning I had them on 3 and tonight will set them to 2. The blanket is a good thick plush blanket on it's own... I was not sure what was keeping me warm since I could not feel heat whether it was working early on so re read the instructions. They clearly say you will not feel heat touching the blanket but when you get in the many micro wires will produce a soft, gentle heat and keep you warm on the coldest nights. It is low voltage technology new in 2000 compared to past methods and Serta, made by Perfect Fit, uses it exclusively in their blanket lines. Same system in all, just different blanket types. Their costs to buy are 2.3 times the cheaper Sunbeam, et al, 120 volt blankets but you get absolutely even and very soft heat. I'm kind of amazed at the physics of it and will tonight keep it very low and to protect the blanket and its wires from any chance of dog claws will pull the one quilt up and sleep under the light heat of the blanket. A surprise to me how well it worked. I guess I expected something like turning a heater on and feeling the heat that emanates and it is absolutely nothing at all like that. What you feel is the effect and can't really feel the cause yet it is there.

If you like your hot coffee cold and your electric blankets turned off then this is the electric warming blanket for you. After years of purchasing electric blankets that barely made it through one Winter (they short out, heat unevenly, or die after washing). I thought surely, a blanket that costs so much will save me in the long one. Not so. When Serta titled its blanket "Warming" they were grossly inaccurate. My laptop is literally warmer on my legs than the Serta Warming blanket. Another drawback is the crinkly lining. It feels and sounds like newspapers. The chords are extra long but the heating dial is a cheap plastic as is the plug that fits into the bottom of the blanket. I will be returning despite Zappos uncharacteristic statement on the blanket page that it will only take back unopened unused blankets. Frankly, I am disappointed Zappos would carry such a shoddy product in tandem with the no returns warning. I have never purchased a non shoe item from the site and do not plan to again after this inconvenience and disappointment. An expensive electric blanket that does not work!
