Great shoes. I wore them brand new for a week of hiking: no blisters. They run a little small, so I ended up returning them for a half size bigger.

I love these hiking shoe and have been wearing them for years. I loved the old blue color but this color is nice too. I buy these one size bigger than my normal shoe size because my toes seem to blister from hitting the end of any shoe I buy to hike in. Buying them bigger allows for more room in the toe area. I just make sure I lace them snugly and I always add an additional flat cushion insert under the manufacturers insert in all my shoes for more cushioning. I think this comes with age. Also tightening my shoes before I go back down the mountain helps with this as well. These are great shoe, I will buy them forever if they make them forever.

Great shoes - I bought these for an upcoming trip to Yellowstone. Tried them out for a day at Disneyland and they were fantastic. Very comfortable. Normally when I am standing around or walking around for many hours at a time, my lower back will hurt and I'll have to take breaks and sit down, but not once during the day did I feel any back pain or have to stop and rest. Great shoes make a huge difference. I love these shoes! Bought a pair of the men's version for my teenage son and he loves his also.

Comfy shoe - I got this shoe to replace the NB 746 (which imho NB mistakenly discontinued). I tried 4 other NB (some even recommended by NB customer service) models before I got this Merrell. Purchase history: NB 965 and 749 - color close to 746 - never comfortable on left foot bunion; NB 644 - awful looking, hard to put on AND uncomfortable; NB 603 - bad styling and uncomfortable for aforementioned reasons. I liked the color of the NB better - mesh on this shoe gets discolored because I walk on dirt roads that can get muddy. However (and more importantly) the Merrells are comfortable and do not annoy the bunion - this is in part because the shoe is a bit wider through the ball of the foot and is more forgiving. I haven't done any clambering around rocks (something the NB 746 would allow) but I'm sure they will work for that too. I am not a serious and distance hiker - a few miles will suffice. The Merrells are perfectly adequate - (but lack the "perfection" of the 746). I don't mean to be "damning with faint praise" I just miss the NB 746.

I have a wider foot in the toe bed region and a skinny ankle. Sometimes it's hard for me to find a shoe that fits because of this. I was looking for the perfect summer hiking shoe. My boots were too hot. These shoes are the most comfortable shoe I have ever tried on. They are light, yet cushioning and the traction is great. Thank you Zappos!

Fit well right out of the box, have good grip on the bottom (not a "real hiker" so I don't know the correct term). I had read that they ran a little small so I went up a half size and that worked otu great. They were attractive and made me look like I knew what I was doing when hiking and traveling. Also quite versatile, blended in great with a lot of outfits.

Fantastic hiking shoes. True-to-size; comfortable cushy inside; good support. I hiked Joyce Kilmer forest (easy/moderate) and Tallulah Gorge State Park (difficult/strenuous) in these shoes. No rubbing, no achy feet (besides the usual after hiking all day.) I've been a fan of Merrell's for years- they never fail to deliver quality shoes. Definitely recommend.

I was really a K**n shoe enthusiast but my husband was so happy with his pair of Merrell shoes being perfect right out of the box I decided to give these a try. I ordered these in a size 7.5 that I normally wear but they were just a tad too short, so returned them free to Zappos and ordered the size 8, which fit perfectly. They are indeed comfortable right out of the box, no break in period. I never heard of the Q-angle before, but that really does make a difference, could tell my foot was being placed much more evenly on the hard asphalt surface I walk on. Will be ordering another pair in different color. Great shoe for hot California summers, keeps foot aired out well. Now I am a believer in Merrell.

Spent four days on the Inka trail with these shoes. My feet were happy after two mountain passes and a wild decent to Machu Pichu. Great shoes!

I bought my first pair of Merrell Moab Ventilators a year ago at the recommendation of my podiatrist. This is my third pair since then. Along with aggressive orthotics, I walk miles now without foot pain. I wear them 90% of the time - they're my everyday shoe and my hiking shoe. I wear a size 7 in dress shoes, but with the orthotics and Smart Wool socks, I wear an 8.5 in this shoe. My only complaint is that the shoe laces untie themselves unless double knotted.

I love these shoes. I had to go half a size up, typically I wear a 6.5 and had to get these in a 7. I probably could have gone even a full size, depends on the socks and type of hiking you are doing. Since I'm using these for light hiking in hotter weather, I am wearing thin wicking socks which works great with them. The toe box is not small, but it does kind of square off, so if your toes are of different lengths, which mine are, it does hit one weirdly sometimes. Overall, I love these shoes and they have come in handy for zip lining, horse back riding, hiking and volcano trail walking.

These are really great shoes. I work on my feet, standing on concrete floors all day. They are great shock absorbers and fit well. This is my 4th pair of these shoes. Love them.

I love Merrell shoes - this one fits well but is heavier than the Siren Sport I bought last time. Better for hiking probably.

The Moab surpassed expectations. Plenty of room in the toe. Needed no break in time, comfortable immediately. Haven't worn them in challenging terrain yet, but I expect the best.

Great hiking shoe! Zero break-in time needed. I didn't want a hiking shoe that looked too granola-y/mountain woman-ish, and this was a good compromise. I've never had a dedicated hiking shoe prior to this because I would just wear my sneakers on hikes, but found that I was needing something with a little bit more grip. I'm a weekend hiker, and usually do trails of about 2-7 miles that are slippery/occasionally dangerous. I felt like I had good traction with these shoes. To give you an idea of the terrain I'm usually on, look up Ka'au Crater in Hawaii. My feet stayed dry for the most part in wetter conditions except for when I misstepped and landed in a stream. The shoe is easy to clean and the inside padding can be removed for better cleaning and faster drying. I bought a size 7 (I wear 7-7.5 in sneakers, 7 in dress shoes) and it fits well.

I ordered these shoes for a trip out to Yellowstone and I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. I typically have really bad back pain when walking for extended distances. Walking in these shoes I really can say they were very comfortable. I am really happy with these shoes.

Awesome shoe! Did have to do an exchange for 1/2 size larger, as shoe seems to run small. No "break-in" period needed. Comfortable from the get go.

This is the only shoe that really fits my foot. It is comfortable no matter how long I have them on. I have two pair and may get a third. If you need a wide toe box and relatively narrow heel, this is the shoe for you. Wish the exact same last came in a dressier look. Note that the waterproof style does not fit - it is narrower!

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned! Right out of the box the fit was perfect, no breaking in necessary. The support is extraordinary! I wear them almost everyday; they are great for trails, light hiking, or just walking around. If you are looking for a shoe for more intense hiking go with a boot with ankle support (like the Moab/Siren Mid or Chameleon Arc 2 Rival). I recommend these shoes to all my friends!

The Merrell Moab Ventilator in the gray/blue is a gorgeous color with nice cushioning and support. Unfortunately the size 11 was too short.

Yea! Enough room for toes to wiggle while not sliding in the heel. Took a couple of tries with other brands to get this combination in a shoe I can feel secure in on moderately rough terrain. Thanks to Zappos easy return process, I did not get discouraged. Note: my ideal size is 10.5. I definitely needed the 11 in this brand/style. I would prefer a little more arch support, but other than that they fit comfortably right out of the box.

I bought these hiking shoes yesterday, and wore them on a two hour hike this morning. They were great! No break-in period required, no blisters, and the sole gripped really well on the rocks and sand. I would definitely recommend these!

I just bought my 5th pair of Moab Ventilators. They are my favorite walking shoe. I walk 4 to 5 days a week and I have found these shoes to be consistently comfortable and properly supportive of my feet. Like all of Merrell's shoes, they are well priced. I'll continue to buy them, as long as Merrell makes them!

The best fitting and most comfortable shoes I've ever had! I did go up a half size and they fit very well. They go with denim and look nice with jeans. I wear them for casual wear with my jeans, and not just for hiking. They stabilize my feet when walking in sand or on rocks. They are the only shoes I've found that I can wear all day on sand, rocks, or sidewalks and my feet still feel good at the end of the day. I have them in this denim blue and a light beige. Love them both!
