I have ordered from Zappos many times, always receiving my order on the following day. And their consumer service has been a joy, too, when I've needed to exchange shoes. I am in my late 70's and have severe arthritis in the middle of my left foot, so I have great difficulty getting shoes that are comfortable, especially dress shoes. After trying many styles, I find the Aetrex Stretch Mary Janes are the most comfortable I own. They are light weight, have lots of toe width and space to fiddle with different kinds of inserts witch comfort my bones.

\r\n I love them! I had foot surgery in January,\r\n\r\n and these shoes are the only ones that I can\r\n\r\n wear for a long time during the day and walk\r\n\r\n fairly long distances with comfort. The have\r\n\r\n a very flexible feel, sturdy, and when my foot\r\n\r\n swells there is some give-side to side on the\r\n\r\n top.

The XW size feels true to width. As promised, the stretch in the upper half of the shoe accommodates bunions (mine are quite large). It is not the most supportive material and not the cutest shoe, but by far more attractive for business casual wear than your typical XW shoes. I'm keeping them for that purpose.Aesthetically, the strap could stand to be shorter, because if anyone's foot was large enough to actually need this much strap, there is no way she could cram her forefoot into the toe anyway. I have a very wide mid foot but still have a lot of strap sticking out when I put this on.

I have recently developed bunion problems on both sides of my feet and have had a terrible time finding shoes that I could wear. The Aetrex stretch Mary Janes have absolutely saved me and I have bought two pairs, one for rainy days and the other to keep in optimum condition. I highly recommend these shoes!

These shoes were immediately comfortable the moment I put them on, and their fabric's give means no blisters. The lengthy Mary Jane strap is completely adjustable, too, which is an area that I sometimes have trouble with, as the top of my foot is higher than average. I recently got custom orthotics, so I ordered a wide (D) and they fit nicely in the shoes. They're keepers.

I have the feet from hell. These shoes are so comfortable! I wore them around the house to make sure they didn't hurt. Then wore them to work- a 12 hour day. My feet did not hurt at all. I love these shoes!

Love these shoes! Very comfortable all day. And for as comfortable as they are, they're quite cute. Lightweight, too. Wish there were more colors.

I love these shoes - Cute, great, wonderful shoe! The strap stays put and never comes loose, very durable shoe. I love them. I’ve tried several other shoes, but these are the best. So comfortable that when I get home from work I don't even want to take them off!

Comfortable shoe - I am a difficult fit -- in between 11 & 12 with a wide forefoot and a narrow heel, & have a hammertoe on the bigger foot. In Aetrex dress shoes, the 12 is too big, and in their athletic shoes, the 12 is usually a tad short. The Essence Stretch Mary Jane fits great in an 11. It is fairly good-looking and extremely comfortable. The only thing I'd like to change is I wish there were just a little more padding on the sole -- I wear it at least 4 times a week to work. Would be nice in more colors.

Aetrex Essence Stretch Mary Jane - I highly recommend this shoe to anyone who has thick toes and need's a deeper toe box. Or to anyone who has bunions. And my thanks to Zappos for carrying this brand of shoe!

Post-op Surgery from New York - I am 2 months post-op from bunion surgery, and after graduating from tennis shoes, wanted something a little nicer, but still accommodated swollen feet. I normally wear 8.5 wide, but were too big so I went down to 8 wide and they fit perfect. These shoes do stretch as your foot warms up the material, and feels a little bigger. For me, these are merely a stepping stone to regular shoes. I hope to buy something in leather with a bit more overall foot support as I heal. These were a lifesaver and look quite nice even with skirts, although somewhat orthopedic. I highly recommend these especially if you have foot problems. There is no cutting or binding over my surgery scar on my foot.

Awesome Marry Jane stretch shoes - I love these shoes. They are simple and oh so comfortable. I have a wide foot, 11w. It is very hard for me to find comfortable shoes and I love them. My only complaint is the material threading gets stuck on the velcro of the shoe if I don't velcro it exactly on to the velcro strip and it snags the material of the shoe, so I am occasionally cutting off threading that has come through. Other than this, I love the shoe. Too bad it doesn't come in other colors, I'd buy one of each color.

Pure Comfort - Wish it was available in my size in black as it is everything I had hoped for. Accepted my orthotics and did not put pressure on my arthritic toes.

Great shoe - This is one great shoe. I had a foot surgery, my foot was so swollen I could not put it in any shoe - only to surgical boot. This shoe I got after I tried several shoes, this one is the winner. My pelvis is leveled, I can walk, I can put my swollen and bandaged foot in. The shoe is light, soft, holds well. A teacher's dream shoe! I'm a high school science teacher. That means I’m constantly moving about, sitting, standing, walking, criss-crossing the campus, and traversing rows of students all day, every day. Long ago I accepted that I MUST HAVE attractive shoes that fit extremely well. The former because, well, I work with teenagers and that means I gotta (try to) be a little stylish. The latter because if my shoes aren’t comfy then my mood and my attitude take a dive. (No one wants that!) Anyway, this shoe definitely meets my requirements. It's well-manufactured and stands up to the rigors of my job day in and day out. Sturdy AND attractive, it’s that rare pair of shoes I fall in love with the first time I slide them on my feet. The velcro closure allows me to adjust the tightness if my feet swell or shrink with the tides of the day. We're having a very warm fall here in northern California but even when the rains of winter begin, these shoes will keep my feet warm and dry until next spring.

Review from Florida - I am literally standing 8 hours a day 5 days a week-even my orthotics were not working. These shoes accommodate my orthotics and look great with dress pants. However, I would like to see them in a little dressier version to wear with skirts etc. Also the only complaint I have is that the velcro on the straps snags by knee high nylons! Other than that I love them.
