I thought these shoes were beautiful and well constructed, and the suede is soft and flexible. The inside of the heel even has soft, extra cushioning to avoid blisters. My 10 year old son wears a size 5 shoe and has a slightly wide foot, although I always buy him regular width shoes and he's fine. The length of these was perfect, he even had a little extra room to grow, but he kept complaining that the heel was too tight and it was squeezing his foot. Maybe it's that extra layer of padding. Sadly, I am sending them back, but it's a huge bummer because they are such a nice looking shoe.

Love the stye of this shoe and the color/quality if the leather is great (I ordered in the tan color "Land"). Unfortunately, it is so tight across the arch that I could barely get the shoe on. (I have very high arches.) I liked the shoe enough to considered stretching it, but the stretching would have been right across where the stitching is at the base of the laces, and I was afraid it would just tear the stitched area. Too bad - aside from the arch problem, the shoe felt true to size and was comfortable for my moderately wide foot. Comfortable heel height, too.
