Outdoor Kids Reviews

  • Merrell Kids by Allout Fuse A/C (Little Kid) Overall Rated: 2 stars! Comfort Rated: 1 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Nov 25, 2014 Diana Hegarty from United States

Freakishly small and my daughter has a very narrow foot - if you want to bother with these, go up at least a full size if not more.

  • Merrell Kids by Chameleon Low A/C Waterproof (Little Kid) Overall Rated: 2 stars! Comfort Rated: 1 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Nov 25, 2014 Diana Hegarty from United States

Ordered these and the Merrell Allout Fuse for my son 1/2 size up because everyone said they ran small - that's an understatement. I even got these in a wide with and I still couldn't get them on my son's foot. Great looking but so annoying.

I ordered 1/2 size up and couldn't even get it on my sons food. Freakishly small and also had a sewing flaw on the inside - a hard chunk of fabric sticking right up near the seem at the arch. Great looking but just too much of a hassle with the size and the flaw.

  • SOREL Kids by Cub Graphic 13 (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Nov 25, 2014 Nicole

Perfect! My 4 year old was thrilled when we opened the box and happily stomped around in them for the evening anticipating tomorrows snow storm. My 6 year old is very jealous and wants flowers on hers. Seems like a good fit, warm boot insert that is removable an drawstring top which is perfect for preventing snow from getting in! Can't wait to use them!

  • Khombu Kids by Sam (Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Nov 25, 2014 Anonymous from Michigan

If you're looking for a wider boot this is the one to try. I have tried several other brands this year Kamik, Tundra, and Sorel and all have not opened wide enough to get my son's foot into. These fit him like a glove!

  • Bogs Kids by Wall Ball Chelsea Boot (Little Kid/Big Kid) Overall Rated: 5 stars! Comfort Rated: 5 stars! Look Rated: 5 stars! Nov 25, 2014 Anonymous from Bronx, NY

Great. My daughter loves these. They are more comfortable than the tall Bogs. She wears them to school and they are not too hot because they do not have a furry lining. True to size.

About Outdoor Kids

Daddy drove for a long time. We went up mountains and through hills. My mom pointed out all the important things to look at, like the horses and the ducks. But when we finally got to our camping site, I couldn't wait to jump out of the car!

I was prepared for all the mud and puddles in my new Keen™ Kids boots. I feel like I have total control over my feet! I can't wait for our hike, but first we have to set up camp. I love everything about camping. We have great sleeping bags from The North Face® that we can snuggle under, and the scariest ghost story around the campfire won't keep me awake. I even have some fun pajamas from Life Is Good® to wear on our first night.

Next year, I'll be going to summer camp all by myself! I can't wait to meet other kids my age and go on hikes with them and make s'mores at night. I'm getting some good practice this year with my family vacation, and I've already broken in my Merrell Kids® hiking shoes. Over the winter, our parents took us out in the snow. I had a lot of fun learning how to ski, but even more fun learning how to snowboard! My little brother went sledding and started a few snowball fights. We both really love the warm clothes Mom bought us from Obermeyer Kids®. Now we can really tackle that mountain!

We don't always stick to the snow. On this trip, we're having so much fun discovering all the trees, the little critters and even each other. I never knew my dad was scared of spiders. But he is! He saw one on my backpack while we were on the trail and he totally freaked out. It was pretty funny. It was a good thing I was wearing a cool Patagonia® Kids beanie. I wouldn't want a spider in my hair! No insects were harmed, by the way. Dad is an eco-friendly kind of guy, and he just brushed him off into the woods.

We walked for a long time. I'm glad Mom had my little brother in his Baby Jogger™. She says it's really durable and safe on all the trails. He just sits back all nice and cozy, but his feet sure do look cute in his Teva® Kids sandals. We also packed some Columbia® Kids rain boots, just in case. If the weather does turn cold, I'll have all the protection I need because I've also brought my jacket and a warm top. I am so ready for this vacation!

Sometimes I think that vacations are even better than recess. You can't go fishing at recess, for example. But with my new water friendly Sorel® Kids boots, I can hit the lake front and bring some dinner back to camp!

I hope you liked my story. And I hope your family goes on an amazing vacation this year, too!
