The worst school shoe. After only one month of Kindergarten the leather is completely scraped off and the rubber is separating from the shoe. I thought Merrell was a good brand?! The Pedipeds I bought last year lasted the entire year, now I'm going to have to buy new shoes after only one month! What a waste of money. My son has not complained about how they feel, so I guess the inside is okay in terms of support. But when your 5 year old boy notices how bad his shoes look, there's a problem. Grr, and don't buy these.

We had the same shoe in last years model (which was awesome, by the way) but these are so different. My daughter still loves them...really cute on..very comfy...but they are not as rugged and are already coming apart. The sole is very different which was the key to last years design. Also, the elastic lace and stitching doesn't really work to add any function as far as adjusting the shoe. It seems to be there more for looks than function. Love Zappos but not very happy with Merrell this year.

Sturdy sneaker, the big kids version doesn't have the pictured Velcro strap, but does have bungee laces, so it's still a no-tie shoe. First ordered his size, but it was too small, so order a full size up, which left us some room to grow. Aggressive tread, my boy says it's very comfy, and gets a thumbs up from both of us.

These are great loafers! The second pair I have bought for my son (after he out grew the first). He's comfortable and able to go to all his 7th/8th grade parties and dance.

These are great shoes! My son says they are very comfortable (they better be, he has to wear them to school five days a week!). They do not seem at all like those shoes that seem to wear out in the toe area. They are well made at a decent cost for so much wear.

My Preschooler loves these shoes. I think they're okay. I measured her foot before hand and still feel they are a little big. Also, she walks on her toes most of the time, so they slip off. It doesn't seem to bother her and they're more comfortable for her than most shoes she's tried. She has really skinny feet and they fit well for that. Also, they're super easy for her to get on herself. We've had them about a month and they're holding up fine.
About Outdoor Kids
Daddy drove for a long time. We went up mountains and through hills. My mom pointed out all the important things to look at, like the horses and the ducks. But when we finally got to our camping site, I couldn't wait to jump out of the car!
I was prepared for all the mud and puddles in my new Keen™ Kids boots. I feel like I have total control over my feet! I can't wait for our hike, but first we have to set up camp. I love everything about camping. We have great sleeping bags from The North Face® that we can snuggle under, and the scariest ghost story around the campfire won't keep me awake. I even have some fun pajamas from Life Is Good® to wear on our first night.
Next year, I'll be going to summer camp all by myself! I can't wait to meet other kids my age and go on hikes with them and make s'mores at night. I'm getting some good practice this year with my family vacation, and I've already broken in my Merrell Kids® hiking shoes. Over the winter, our parents took us out in the snow. I had a lot of fun learning how to ski, but even more fun learning how to snowboard! My little brother went sledding and started a few snowball fights. We both really love the warm clothes Mom bought us from Obermeyer Kids®. Now we can really tackle that mountain!
We don't always stick to the snow. On this trip, we're having so much fun discovering all the trees, the little critters and even each other. I never knew my dad was scared of spiders. But he is! He saw one on my backpack while we were on the trail and he totally freaked out. It was pretty funny. It was a good thing I was wearing a cool Patagonia® Kids beanie. I wouldn't want a spider in my hair! No insects were harmed, by the way. Dad is an eco-friendly kind of guy, and he just brushed him off into the woods.
We walked for a long time. I'm glad Mom had my little brother in his Baby Jogger™. She says it's really durable and safe on all the trails. He just sits back all nice and cozy, but his feet sure do look cute in his Teva® Kids sandals. We also packed some Columbia® Kids rain boots, just in case. If the weather does turn cold, I'll have all the protection I need because I've also brought my jacket and a warm top. I am so ready for this vacation!
Sometimes I think that vacations are even better than recess. You can't go fishing at recess, for example. But with my new water friendly Sorel® Kids boots, I can hit the lake front and bring some dinner back to camp!
I hope you liked my story. And I hope your family goes on an amazing vacation this year, too!
