These hurt instantly when I put them on. They put pressure directly on the spot where my neuroma is. Had to return them. Otherwise they were lightweight and fun looking, so if you don't have any feet problems, they are probably okay.

Lets start that I am a beginner runner and needed something to help me fix my heel strike. I was hurting my knees, and needed to do something. I did research and this brand is what I came up with. in the beginning my legs ached a bit different but for some odd reason I ran 20 seconds faster per mile. I am convinced this is the shoe I will stick with. Another thing that I noticed, 1/2 of the winners in all categories of a 10 mile race I ran had Newtons. That should tell you something. Go easy at first with the shoes and work your way up. At first its a bit odd but in the end well worth it. Ive got 70 miles on these shoes already.

I absolutely love these shoes. This was the first pair of Newtons that I ever bought, and I am certain that they will not be the last. The Distance III is very light weight, and like other reviews have mentioned, really propel you forward and I have noticed my runs getting faster and faster. Running just feels better with these. There is an adjustment period - my calfs were sore after the first few times I wore them, but now I do not notice it at all. They have definitely helped improve my running form, and I highly recommend them!

I have the previous Distance with other four lugs and loved it but this five lugs feels even better! The shoe is so light and feel like I can go faster and run forever on it. Feels like I'm ready to just spring forward with every step! I get tons of compliments on the bright yellow and it makes my feet happy! I am definitely a Newton fan! These shoes have really improved my running form and I've gotten faster since using these. Caution to wear them in slowly as they say. I had some shin and calf soreness at first but followed the breaking in directions and now they feel awesome!

I love Newtons and this is my third pair! They are so light weight and they last much longer than my other running shoes. Zappos has a great selection and you can't beat the free shipping and returns! If you are new to Newtons, expect your calves to be a little sore at first- it's only because the shoes are showing your foot how to properly roll when wearing them.

I do a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) class and this past summer our instructor amped up the running since it was nice outside. It was nothing for us to run 3 - 4 miles at a time. I started getting killer shin splints. I went to a local store were they special in running shoes. I had my running gate analyzed. I was wearing Asics (Gel Kayano 20) and the store owner put me in a Newton Running Energy NR II! Since I was a heel striker the differential (6mm) on the Newton shoe worked way better for me than my Asics which was around a 12mm. I still had to take it easy on my shins for several more weeks until they healed completely. Since then, I've been running with the Newton's pain free for months now! They seem to be holding up very well and is super comfortable to run in. I also wear them to do my other cross fit training exercises. I don't want to bring several pairs of shoes to class so I leave them on while doing ski abs, burpees, mountain climbers, etc. The only thing that I wish this shoe had was a little more ankle support for my side to side moves we do. Then they would be perfect for all my needs! I highly recommend these shoes even though I wasn't crazy for the color!

Overall-- Narrow in the toe-box (I have wide feet) at first and they stretch over time. Very fashionable and rugged soles. Based on the size chart on the Newton Running website, went with a size 7.5 which is my typical size. My first run in them was a 12 mile technical trail run. I had to cinch up the top laces so my foot didn't shift forward hitting my toes on the front of the shoe on the downhill. The second 12 mile trail run was more comfortable wearing them and I wasn't afraid of loosing a toe-nail. The toe-box stretched enough to accommodate my wide feet and provide room for swelling. No blisters. Worked well on wet muddy steep climbs and descents. The arch support wasn't too high or too low - I didn't notice it at all. Due to my wide feet, I had to switch out the laces with 54" laces.

These shoes have been great. My first pair of Newton's and I really like them. I did have to go up a size though, usually an 8 or 8.5, got a 9.5 in these.

I wanted these to be my dream jogging shoes: love the color, fit is perfect, took my time adjusting to the lugs. Unfortunately, the shoes caused some injury issues with my left side, hip & upper hamstring. The left foot pronates a little while my right foot strike is neutral. That may be the issue. I have read great reviews on this shoe so it works well for numerous people, but I still adore the color & plan to wear it casually once in awhile.... Perfect for St. Patty's Day! ð???

Met a Newton rep at yoga conference in CO and was fitted for these shoes but they were not selling them there. Ordered them here. Rep told me to break them in slowly. Today I ran just two miles in them and my right heel hurt. Took them off...inside of right shoe already has a rub area and looks like fabric is ready to rip. Seriously after 2 miles? They fit perfectly. This price is too much for poor quality like this. I will need to send them back.

These shoes are very comfortable and well made. I thought it would be difficult to switch my jogging style to forefoot striking but it was not. It is very natural. I had it locked in within a couple blocks. I love these shoes and will replace them with other Newtons when the time comes.

Love Newton's. So comfortable and provides a great base to plant foot. Best running shoes I have ever owned.

The shoe fits okay for the most part. But tapers fast in the toe box. Compared to the other Newtons I own/have tried. This is unacceptable. My other problem with this shoe, the lugs are rigid (I know they are made this way) and do not have that "Pop" that is what Newton is known for.

I LOVE these shoes. I had almost given up on running due to metatarsal pain and even long walks were starting to hurt in regular sneakers. These are wonderful. They feel very, very strange at first due to the negative rise, but my feet immediately noticed a difference. You probably should take it easy the first few weeks as they have less support at the heel than any other running shoe I've used (feels more minimalist at the heel). Anyway, I cannot say these enough good things if you have metatarsal or joint pain - it really helped me. My only complaint is that the lugs (under the metatarsals) are starting to show some noticeable wear after only about 1 1/2 months of walking and mild running. And they are pretty expensive, so I hope they last a little longer than that.

The Newton Boco Sol is my first pair of Newtons, and so far so good. The transition had been easy and the shoes have performed great on some very technical terrain. They felt a little narrow in the toe box at first, but I haven't noticed that lately. I have about 80 miles on them and think I may have found my new trail shoe. The mesh upper on the Sol does let in a fair amount of dirt, but nothing large enough to bother during the run.

Love Newtons! Nothing like the ride you get from their design. Good for light trails but would not use for more rugged terrain.

After trying many brands, Newton running is where I landed. I ordered this model, the kismet, and the distance s iii. This will be my main trainer and used for longer races. My only concern was the heel is somewhat wide (in all models I now own), but It does not affect my running at all. Looking forward to many miles in my new shoes!

After trying many brands, Newton running is where I landed. I ordered this model, the motion iii, and the kismet. This will be my speed work and race shoe for the shorter triathlons and road races I hope Newton makes this shoe in burnt orange or similar crazy color next year! My only concern was the heel is somewhat wide (in all models I now own), but It does not affect my running at all. Looking forward to many miles in my new shoes!

I bought these running shoes about a month ago and the support on the shoe laces is terrible. It completely broke and I was forced to return them. It is sad when in reality these shoes were working perfectly for me. I haven't even used them that much. My dad has his pair and loved them so much he told me to buy these but I won't buy any again, it's simply poor quality materials.
