I wanted these to be my dream jogging shoes: love the color, fit is perfect, took my time adjusting to the lugs. Unfortunately, the shoes caused some injury issues with my left side, hip & upper hamstring. The left foot pronates a little while my right foot strike is neutral. That may be the issue. I have read great reviews on this shoe so it works well for numerous people, but I still adore the color & plan to wear it casually once in awhile.... Perfect for St. Patty's Day! ð???

Met a Newton rep at yoga conference in CO and was fitted for these shoes but they were not selling them there. Ordered them here. Rep told me to break them in slowly. Today I ran just two miles in them and my right heel hurt. Took them off...inside of right shoe already has a rub area and looks like fabric is ready to rip. Seriously after 2 miles? They fit perfectly. This price is too much for poor quality like this. I will need to send them back.

These shoes are very comfortable and well made. I thought it would be difficult to switch my jogging style to forefoot striking but it was not. It is very natural. I had it locked in within a couple blocks. I love these shoes and will replace them with other Newtons when the time comes.

Love Newton's. So comfortable and provides a great base to plant foot. Best running shoes I have ever owned.

Great running shoes! Form fitting, light, and supportive. Very comfortable too!

The shoe fits okay for the most part. But tapers fast in the toe box. Compared to the other Newtons I own/have tried. This is unacceptable. My other problem with this shoe, the lugs are rigid (I know they are made this way) and do not have that "Pop" that is what Newton is known for.

I LOVE these shoes. I had almost given up on running due to metatarsal pain and even long walks were starting to hurt in regular sneakers. These are wonderful. They feel very, very strange at first due to the negative rise, but my feet immediately noticed a difference. You probably should take it easy the first few weeks as they have less support at the heel than any other running shoe I've used (feels more minimalist at the heel). Anyway, I cannot say these enough good things if you have metatarsal or joint pain - it really helped me. My only complaint is that the lugs (under the metatarsals) are starting to show some noticeable wear after only about 1 1/2 months of walking and mild running. And they are pretty expensive, so I hope they last a little longer than that.

The Newton Boco Sol is my first pair of Newtons, and so far so good. The transition had been easy and the shoes have performed great on some very technical terrain. They felt a little narrow in the toe box at first, but I haven't noticed that lately. I have about 80 miles on them and think I may have found my new trail shoe. The mesh upper on the Sol does let in a fair amount of dirt, but nothing large enough to bother during the run.

Love Newtons! Nothing like the ride you get from their design. Good for light trails but would not use for more rugged terrain.

After trying many brands, Newton running is where I landed. I ordered this model, the kismet, and the distance s iii. This will be my main trainer and used for longer races. My only concern was the heel is somewhat wide (in all models I now own), but It does not affect my running at all. Looking forward to many miles in my new shoes!

After trying many brands, Newton running is where I landed. I ordered this model, the motion iii, and the kismet. This will be my speed work and race shoe for the shorter triathlons and road races I hope Newton makes this shoe in burnt orange or similar crazy color next year! My only concern was the heel is somewhat wide (in all models I now own), but It does not affect my running at all. Looking forward to many miles in my new shoes!

After trying many brands, Newton running is where I landed. I ordered this model, the motion iii, and the distance s iii. While i'm not huge on the color, this is my favorite of the 3 Newtons I ordered. My only concern was the heel is somewhat wide (in all models I now own), but It does not affect my running at all. Looking forward to many miles in my new shoes!

I bought these running shoes about a month ago and the support on the shoe laces is terrible. It completely broke and I was forced to return them. It is sad when in reality these shoes were working perfectly for me. I haven't even used them that much. My dad has his pair and loved them so much he told me to buy these but I won't buy any again, it's simply poor quality materials.

I previously ran in the 4 lug Distance U. The new model has an added lug, and a noticeable spongy heel. I find the new model to be more durable and comfortable with the same lightweight feel. I only run in Newtons. I think the technology of other brands has a significant amount of catching up to do.

I absolutely love these shoes. I have a wide foot with bunions and two hammer toes and these shoes are total comfort with my feet problems. The toe box is the best I have ever experienced. I was wearing the Torin by Altra because they had a wide toe box, but these surpass the Torin. I was a previous runner, but hurt my knee. Now I am a walker. Shoes are light weight, great support, great color and when I walk I feel like I have a spring in my step.

Love these shoes! It definitely took a few weeks to break them in, and I suggest following the Newton recommendation of slowly increasing the time spent running in these shoes. Now I can't imagine going back to my old pair!

If your just standing with these on for the first time it feels like something is stuck to the bottom of your shoe, but as soon as you take off running its like running on a cloud. Seriously! The support and cushion this unique shoe gives your foot is amazing. I had the opportunity to "Test" these on my first 5K last week and the support on the bottom of the shoe literally molds to how your foot lands giving you perfect comfort while running. My feet felt awesome after the run. I havent run more than a mile in 8 years and the week prior to the 5K I ran two miles twice, then went right into the 5K. So my muscles had not yet lengthened and strengthened up. Great shoe! Cannot wait to buy a pair for myself. Ironically, my husband needed a new pair and bought a pair of New Balances the day of the race. A few days later he took them back because they were so uncomfortable. He tried on about 20 different pairs of shoes (no lie, 20!) until he tried a pair of Newtons. He walked out with the Newtons and loves them! I can say I am very envious he got a pair before I did! hope this helps =) I chose moderate arch support for the review because I have a medium arch, and it supports wonderfully. I have had some where it makes my foot arch too much, hence the "Moderate" review I gave.

I tried very hard to like these shoes. I was used to a minimal drop shoe before I bought the Newtons and I never could make the transition. There is just not enough cushion for me. I really don't see what the fuss is about this brand.

This was my first pair of Newtons and I was a little concerned at first with the difference in the feel of the shoe. I absolutely love this shoe, so comfortable.

I love them! After four years of running this is my first pair of Newtons. I run 20-30 miles a week. At times I dealt with shin splints due to overtraining and heel striking. After three weeks I have transitioned to mid-foot striking, no longer have shin issues, I have picked up my pace and the transition was not difficult! Overall I feel my running is more efficient and they are very comfortable!

I read the reviews for these shoes, excellent, so I bought them. I am a runner, first time the ball of my feet were killing me, second, third, fourth, I gave them plenty of time to get used to. Nothing worked out. Also, they started ripping apart from the shoe laces holders. They weren't for me. Although I tried hard to love them, I wanted to keep them. Love the color, the simple look, and feel, in a world of, only, bulky shoes. But more cons than pros on it. What is the biggest fact here is that there is no better place, in the world, to shop than Zappos! I recommend Zappos with your eyes closed. Better customer service, fastest shipping.
