Merrell Barefoot River Glove

One word for this shoe...amazing! A terrific, very light, comfortable shoe! I had a severe foot injury several months ago and have been on a mission to find a shoe that allows me to walk without limping, discomfort in my foot, knees and back, and with a bit of cushion but not too much weight or possibility of rolling to the side. I finally found the perfect shoe and will be ordering ALL styles of the Merrell Barefoot collection! There is not much arch support, but the overall support of the shoe compensates for that! Your gait will differ from a regular shoe due to the "barefoot" construction, but it seems to be more natural like walking barefoot, but with more support than flip flops or ballet slipper shoes! There was no rubbing or need to break these shoes in, even though I was initially a bit worried about the velcro strap. There is ample room in the toes, yet the rest of the foot is supported. It looks great on and is a great alternative for a tennis shoe. I will definitely buy more of these shoes! Love them! They ran very true to size...I am a 5 1/2 and that's what I ordered. They fit beautifully. I am a raving fan of both Merrell and Zappos!

I love these shoes. I plan to buy more in different colors. I am a total convert to the "barefoot" shoe idea. I have extremely wide feet, WW or EE are too narrow for me, so I am always struggling to find shoes that fit. I usually wear a 7.5, so because I have wide feet I ordered an 8. I repeat -- I love these shoes! I think that if I had had shoes like this over the years that I would never have had foot and back problems. I have had bunion surgery, and have been very clumsy and have a hard time with balance. Now I realize that it is because I could never use my toes to balance with! Having had to cram my poor toes into shoes my whole life, I have been basically handicapped without knowing it. These shoes are a revelation. It took a little bit of getting used to feeling like I was barefoot, but once I did it was amazing. I went on a hike through dirt and gravel trails, and my feet were so happy. I walked through some sand at one point too, and only got a tiny bit of sand in the shoes, which I thought was unusual. Barefoot enthusiasts recommend going sockless, but my feet just got too stinky even with the anti-microbial treated footbed. I found some nice foot covers at Walgreens that don't show, and these work well to absorb the sweat, without sacrificing any noticeable freedom of toe movement. Buy these shoes!

Love these shoes! So light, flexible and perfect for a Europe trip I bought them for but I now where them at home on my comfy days! One slight disappointment is they do make my feet perspire without socks hence can become smelly.

Just returned from Zambia and these worked well! They are easy to clean and they hold up to dirt and water. Water (from puddles, wet grass, etc.) will come in through the bottom holes. The fit is great! Very comfortable.
