Outstanding shirt! Great to just throw on but also I wear it when I'm riding and horse lessoning! Great fabric - easy wash & wear!

The BEST winter coat I've ever owned. I'd fallen in love with this coat but was hesitant to purchase. I went with a cheaper version first and couldn't get the Marmot Montreaux out of my head. Ended up ordering this one and selling the cheaper one I'd bought. This coat is SO warm. I walk kids to school in single digit temps and don't feel a bit of chill. Love the soft fleece cuff inside the sleeve. It's surprisingly stylish for this type of coat - figure flattering and doesn't swallow me up at 5'3". The fur trim on the hood really adds to the overall look of the coat. Do not hesitate. My only slight complaint is that the zipper can be tricky to "catch", but otherwise - perfection. I look forward to wearing this coat for many winters to come!

I have both the jacket and the vest. The arm range of motions is not as good as Patagonia but this is the only flaw. This is a stylish functional non-puffy down piece that looks equally good dressed up or dressed down, which is the major difference from Patagonia. Have tried both brands and they are equally warm. Love the platinum color.

What this jacket lacks in style, it more than makes up for in function. For cooler weather where you need a light layer, this is the perfect jacket. It's wonderful for adventurous outings!

I really like this coat! I ordered this one and also the miss metro from North Face and ended up keeping this one. It was a heavier weight but not too much that I feel weighted down. I ordered an XL, I am 6' tall and about 160 with broad shoulders and long arms. I was afraid it would be too short but both the length and sleeves are perfect! I live in Michigan an it gets very cold (polar vortex) and this jacket is awesome for warmth. The hood is also great as it actually stays on and protects my face in the wind. The fleece lining is cozy and warm also so when you first put the coat on its not cold against your skin. I would definitely buy this coat again! And Zappos is my favorite! Next day shipping is the best ever.

I have been looking for a warm down coat for 3 years now, and tried just about every brand and style. Finally I found this one, and I love it! The fleece lining is what won me over. It helps to keep the wind out and provides the extra warmth. I also love that it's not real bulky, it's soft and slimming yet warm. I still feel feminine and not like a marshmallow when I'm wearing it. This is a keeper!

Wanted to add that the hood DOES have a drawstring and is adjustable. Drawstrings are hidden in the two special slits in the collar up front. Overall, I found the hood very adjustable, it fit my head nicely and definitely stayed on in Chicago winds!

This coat is it! I walk through Chicago downtown every morning and evening on my way to and from work, and it seems like that freezing wind is always always in my face, no matter where I turn! So I was looking for a warm down coat that would keep me warm without thousands of bulky layers underneath, and also the one that is light and comfortable enough to walk in for extended periods of time, breathable (once I warm up walking) - and, of course, more or less stylish and streamlined. I am absolutely in love with this coat! It was about 20 degrees when I first wore it, with some wind. I wore just one light layer (silk sweater) underneath - and I was toasty warm! The wind did NOT go through this coat anywhere! From my experience wearing other down coats, I know that this coat will definitely withstand much lower temps and higher windshield with no problem - it has plenty of light fluffy down in it and it's not flimsy (like Marmot's Toronto jacket). The coat looks very streamlined, it has a nice waist, does not look like a down comforter on you. I like longer length, which hits me right under my knee (I am 5'6"). Light fleecy lining in the back and chest area is very soft, you'll find it inside the collar and around wrists as well. Pockets are deep, comfortably positioned at a diagonal, fleece-lined as well. Cover material is soft, matte, not "crinkly". The adjustable hood kept my head very warm as well. I would change only 2 things. Marmot's logo is quite visible, it's positioned on the left side of the chest area, done in contrasting stitching. I would prefer it shown more discreetly, perhaps, on the sleeve and in matching stitching. Faux fur around the hood is pretty cheap looking, unfortunately. I will have to take it off, it can be unzipped.

This is a great looking jacket! It boasts 700 fill, nice streamlined look, soft light fleece lining at the upper chest and back area feels nice, comfy compact hood, deep pockets with magnetic closures. It's very light and packable and comes with a stuffing bag. I am 5'6", and the length that hit me right below my knees, the vertical stitching around waist looked pretty good too, I felt like I could wear it with or without the belt, it looked good both ways. The Marmot logo is discreetly shown on the lower sleeve, embroidered in the same color as jacket, so you almost do not even notice it, which I liked. I thought that I found my perfect down jacket! Unfortunately, for Chicago winters this jacket is really not warm enough. I tried it on with two layers underneath (warm cashmere sweater and a long sleeve shirt). It was about 20-25° outside, very little wind - and I could definitely feel the cold sneaking through the sleeves! If the temperatures were any lower/windshield higher, this jacket would not stand a chance even with warmer layers inside, it will be too cold. I am returning it. I Got Mormot's Montreaux 700 fill coat instead - what a difference!

I'm in NY, where the winters have been getting colder and colder with each passing year. I was looking for a coat that would keep me warm in our 17 degree temps. I decided to give Marmot a try. I compared two coats: the toronto and the montreaux. The both boast 700 power fill, with down defender. The Montreaux beat the Toronto hands down. In fact, it was no competion. The Toronto is a better looking coat with its slim profile and belt. But its not looks i'm after. Its more of a packable down coat which means THIN and not much fill. The Montreaux, even with one less layer, kept me warm and cozy! Its not the most flattering fit--the chest area is really wide, and it has lots of fill. But if its warmth your after, this is your coat!

And I was only outside for about 15 minutes. Couldn't do any real city walking in this thing. So sadly, this is going back and I'm keeping the Montreaux.

This shirt looks like it's white and blue, but the color description says granite. Well, it is actually very GRAY. The picture doesn't look anything like what it actually is. I love Zappos, they are very fast to ship and I am always pleased with them, just wantd to point out that the color in the picture is not what it seems!

This is a great commuter coat! I work in a college campus, lots of walking between buildings in all weather. Last week it was 15F with a wind chill of -10, and I had to wak about 8 blocks. With the hood up and my hands in the pockets, I was toasty warm! It's also lightweight and flattering, which are added bonuses to being warm. The medium fits my 5'7", 135lb athletic frame perfectly with room enough for wooley sweaters. This coat is worth every penny. Only four stars on style because the color choices weren't the best, but I can cope because of the quality.

Be forewarned that the wind whips right through this coat. It fits well and is very comfortable, and would be probably be fine if it were just very cold. But with wind, even 30 degrees F felt cold to me.

This is a really attractive, stylish, well made coat, with a lot of small well thought out details in how it is constructed. It is also the only component coat I found that still looks attractive when the two pieces are worn on their own. The one down side is that it is not quite as warm as I had hoped, but because it looks so great, and will still get plenty of use, I am keeping it anyway.

I researched and tried all the top brands except Canada Goose. This jacket is a dream. I have a big chest and a belly but the large ( 38D 157) makes me look elegant and cute. This coat is fantastically warm. It was 30 below in Chicago the other day and I still felt warm. Plus it's waterproof. It's shedding a few feathers but nothing major.

I have had this coat for about a month, and so far I love it. I ordered the black in XS. I am 5'7" and the coat hits me just at my knee cap, maybe slightly above. Another reviewer mentioned that this coat is actually brown, not a true black. When I first tried it on in the house, I thought the same thing. This looks like a very dark brown in the lighting in my hallway and bathroom. But almost anywhere else it really does look black. And I can only really see the brownish look to it if I am looking up close, like holding the coat an inch away from my face. So, I would say do not be concerned about the color. It is black. I wanted to wait a while before writing this review so I could test out the coat in real cold weather. Our winters are about 40's-teens, and dipping down into single digits and below during the day is rare, but can happen. So far I have worn this coat in 40's down into the single digits with wind, and I have been toasty warm. I am a skinny girl who gets cold if it is below 75°. Winter makes me miserable, so I needed a really good coat. This one has been great so far, and I have not had any major issues with feathers coming out. I think I have seen one or two so far. This coat is pretty lightweight (but not as light as the Patagonia Down With It Parka, which I bought first, but then returned because it was ridiculously thin), but it still keeps you very warm. And since I got the XS, it has a very flattering fitted look to it. It will limit the amount of layers you can wear underneath though. With a shirt, sweater, and scarf it is a little tight. So if you need to wear bulky sweaters and turtlenecks and more, forget it. Go up a size definitely. I bought this to stay warm while looking cute, so if I need to wear a bunch of bulky stuff, I will put on my Land's End coat, which is roomier (but also not as flattering as this). I do have two negatives. This zipper is hard to get started. Sometimes I can get it on the first try, but most times I have to fiddle with it for a while. Pushing it up from the bottom helps. It is hard to get the hood to stay on. There is no draw string to help with that. I zipped the fur trim off, because I hate those things, but I am sure keeping it on would help the hood to stay on my head. Again, this is me choosing style over function, but I think they need to redesign the hood so it is deeper plus has a draw string, that way it can stay on without the fur trim. But I had spent hours online researching long very warm coats that weren't astronomically expensive. So even with those two issues, I am very happy with my purchase, and would highly recommend it.

I love this coat! I live in the Boston area and take both the Commuter Rail and subway into the city to work every day. It has been freezing here the past few days (this morning it was 1 degree at 8am) and this coat has kept me super warm, even in the wind. The coat is comfortable and light. The only thing I don't like about it is how high the collar comes up on the sides of your face when you have it zipped all the way up. This coat was worth every penny and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a warm winter coat.

A great coat overall. It has more down and is higher-quality than North Face. I wore it in extreme cold and was toasty warm. A little utilitarian and the platinum colour is rather drab, but nonetheless a fine choice, especially for the money.

Great quality very warm coat! The warm mocha color is great too. I ordered the medium from Zappos because they didn't have small and it's too big but I found the coat in a small and love it. Very warm in sub-10 degree weather. The hood and collar part that zips around your chin/face are just right. The cuffs and fleece lining are also great. I tried on many brands of down coats and the Marmot seems like the best quality, although slightly bulkier. Also the shoulder area is a little tight in the small. I am 5'3" and 125#, 34B and a slightly muscular build. The coat hits right at my knee which is what I was looking for.
