Just got these. They're great! I was initially worried they would be as uncomfortable as Converse Allstars, but the sole is not flat like the Allstars and these move with your feet very well. The side zipper is purely for fashion, it won't make it easier to put on/take off. In fact these are pretty tedious to put on and take off but I think it's due to the way they are laced from the shop. I will probably be lacing them more like my hiking boots. Doesn't look as sleek, but the way they are laced is incredibly inefficient and hard to adjust. So if you have trouble putting them on, just relace 'em! I think they're very comfortable but I may get some insoles with a little more arch support, because I have relatively high arches. Otherwise they're everything I wanted them to be. Rugged looking yet stylish. The color is a very light grey-green with a sort of shine to it. I think they'll match with many things and they look amazing with dark jeans. Definitely a better, more refined color than the true beige/khaki I thought they would be.

Very comfortable boot, once you get it on. I love the fit all the way up the calf, but you have to nearly unlace them to get your foot in. Also wish the tongue was sewn all the way down to prevent snow/water getting in. I have not had a problem with that yet, and the boot laces snugly enough that it may be a non-issue. Great style, quality build

For the pseudo-Military aficionado, these boots are for you. I got to experience the Olive green choice. It is slightly darker than it appears, but it for the better. Works with more outfits this way. That canvas breathes pretty well, just wear cotton socks. Crew socks primarily. The laces are nice and the tongue is long enough to pull the laces behind it to give it the look it has on the website. The bottom of the shoe is awesome. Sounds like a boot when walking. One thing is, it takes some time to get on and off. Be sure to loosen up the laces so you can take it off with out looking silly. Otherwise feels great to walk around in. The zipper is the cherry on top, but doesn't serve an actual purpose.

These are very comfortable. The only thing that's wrong and should be fixed, they are hard to put on and slip off.

The side zipper is not functional, and because of this (and the shoe-like canvas material of the boot, and the pull-loop being on an outside non-attached-to-the-inner-layer layer) it takes forever to get on and off, and your laces will rarely sit the way that you would like them to. They are very comfortable once on, but too hard to get on/off to make it worth it.
