Originally an immigrant of Bavaria, Levi traveled westward in search of greater opportunities and fortune. An eager businessman of his time, he established a wholesale dry goods business simply dubbed 'Levi Strauss & Co.' It was through this outlet that he imported dry goods, including clothing, umbrellas and fabric. Business was blossoming with the rise of the gold rush, but it was in 1873 that Levi struck gold. Levi Strauss, along with co-creator Jacob Davis patented the process of adding rivets to pants for increased strength and durability. Their creation of the classic 'blue jean' can now be found in households and catwalks worldwide.
LS&Co exists today as one of the world's largest brand-name apparel marketers with sales in over 110 countries. The Levi's brand continues its legacy by consistently providing quality jeans and products, and by earning the trust of consumers, investors, employees and society as a whole through their responsible business practices. This principle of responsible commercial success is embedded in the company's 156-year history and continues to anchor the way LS&Co operates today.

Ordering Levis 527 jeans reminds me of buying peaches at a big corporate grocery store: they are wildly inconsistent; when they are off, they're really off; and when they're good, they're great. I have five pairs of these jeans in different colors, and every single pair fits differently. It's like Levis has a whole range of patterns for the 527, because they are definitely not made the same way every time! I bought one pair with a 31 inseam to wear with boots, and it was actually shorter than my usual 30 inseam. Another pair was so tight in the thighs and crotch that my wife and I burst out laughing because they looked so ridiculous. Then the next pair, same exact size, looks sublime. If it wasn't for Zappos round trip free shipping, there is no way ever that I would buy these jeans online, because there's no telling what you'll get from pair to pair. Get some QA Levis! What happened to your manufacturing?

Color consistency not good. Not sure what Levi is doing here but two out of three 'Tumbled Black' I received were a dark gray, not black like the third and like I have received before, poor. Will try some Rit dye I guess.

Great pair of jeans. I would call these a slim bootcut as well, since I'm fairly skinny and this cut is tight in the thigh area. I've bought the Overhaul, Andi, and the Midnight. I like all three but it should be noted that the Andi is a lighter weight denim, thinner than the others.

I won't subtract any stars for the great Levi's product (or for Zappos great service), but wanted to write to give some fit advice. I like bootcut jeans and am not a fat guy, but years of competitive skiing and cycling have given me pretty muscular legs. Both the Levi's 527s and 517s are too tight in the thigh and seat for me, so be forewarned if you have athletic thighs.

Great everyday jeans. Some comments said the denim on the Andi style was a little thin. I disagree; although it is not overly thick, it is not thin and perfect for the current fall days. The fabric clings to your body in all the right places without being tight and the sanded look is on trend.

I have been buying 527s for nine or so years now. I think they are just simply that great. They look good, and fit me well. My only caveat would be that I am not sure what the normal life span of a pair of jeans is, but a pair of these usually last me two years. Eventually either the crotch will blow out, the knees will thin and start a hole, or the back pocket will rip off - or a combination of all three. So everlasting utility jeans they are not. But these actually look good so I guess that is the trade off.
