These are great shoes. The leather is strong, straps plenty long, and good depth for extra toe box room. But, go up a size from what you measure. It does run small in length.

This shoe is so cute! The problem is that it just isn't comfortable. The footbed is hard and flat. For what you are paying for this shoe, it should be comfortable.

Bought this boot for an actual hiking shoe, one of very few options I have in my size (16). I was initially concerned about the stiffness of the boot, so wore it around the neighborhood for a few weeks before hitting 50 miles of the AT in southern MD and PA in cool weather. Had a backup pair of running shoes in my pack just in case, but no need - didn't have a single sore spot. Trail was rocky and these boots did great. Very comfortable, didn't feel all the pointy rock edges through the sole. Lots of scrapes and scuffs, but the shoes show no structural damage. Kept my feet dry in morning dew, but can't say how they would perform in really wet conditions, although I suspect they would take forever to dry out once they did get soaked through. Good on steep downhills - my foot wasn't sliding around or hitting the box. A little on the heavy side and I can tell that they would be hot in the summer. Sole is flat for a hiker, but I had no issues with slipping. Recommended if you're looking for a decent, well-constructed hiker in a hard-to-fit size.

I love these shoes they are very light and comfortable. They go great with jeans or slacks. I will be buying more. I hope they don't discontinue them.

I have duck feet - 12 4E with a very high arch. This makes my feet very hard to fit. I ordered this shoe and the New Balance 1569 - also a mid cut, so this review is also a comparison. Overall, I like this shoe better than the NB1569. It has a wider toebox and is slightly stiffer all around. My foot fit in the bed really well. It also opens really wide so getting your foot in and out is a breeze. My problem with the shoe was the tongue and the laces. No matter what I did with the lacing pattern it hit the top of my arch in all the wrong places. I like the wide eyelet system, the problem is that it doesn't give you a whole lot of alternate lacing patterns. I wish I could have kept it, but I couldn't.

Perfect for walking off groomed trails - woods, grass, mountains. Hiked 4 miles in a torrential downpor of 3+ inches and my feet were the only dry item when I returned. Suggest using mink oil waterproofing on leather.

I am about to order a third pair of this shoe. The first pair I wore the soles off of with no problem. The second pair literally shrunk at least a size when they got wet and dried out, the top of the rubber toe started coming lose from the top of the shoe, and I had to add padding inside because the insole was too thin, very disappointed! I am going to try again based on the first pair though, but I will be ordering the next pair a size larger just in case.

I wore my first pair for 2 years and then converted them to daily yard work shoes for the last year. They are still in use. Currently wearing the new pair. They are comfortable, durable, rugged and hold polish well.

This are stiffer and not as padded as the other two Dunham pairs I own. Also very LITTLE shine.

The shoe is wearable right out of the box. The important part is my wife thinks they look stylish. Comfortable for me and nice looking for my wife!

These are great shoes, especially for those with wide feet. The style is much better than a lot of comparable oxfords. These are very comfortable with a lot of padding inside. I highly recommend them.

I have only had them a few weeks and am just beginning to have them broken in. They are very comfortable and fit well. I have narrow feet and often need inserts to help shoes fit. These lace up snugly without inserts and I should not need any in the future.

These look like solid workbooks but actually have very flimsy soles. I am very disappointed. I didn't want office shoes.

I was looking for something like my favorite boots that I've had for years. These seemed like they fit the bill. When I received them, it turned out that they were exactly the same brand and style as my old favs. I guess I married the same woman twice. Love is like that.

I was looking for a pair of comfortable brown shoes with the velcro, as I have trouble with tying them in recent years. Not only do they look good, they feel great, and I am ordering another pair.

Narrow feet and high arches led me to New Balance shoes years ago, then I discovered Dunham, just as comfortable. I've had multiple pair. This Battery Park is the only repeat purchase, because the color and style -- now that office dress codes are a bit more relaxed -- look good with business casual. They are also comfortable walking and standing. I have worn out Dunham shoes, always the sole material, but never before I thought they had given good service. I retire them to lawn-mower service and then give them a respectable toss. I would not buy any other brand and am happy Dunham has so many choices now.

As other reviewers mentioned (but I did not listen), having two velcro straps on the back heel is not necessary, and they don't have enough velcro to always stay fastened. The velcro pulls away easily. The front strap also has a break in it with a plastic loop right around the big toe and rubs and is very uncomfortable.

Test fit showed a great shoe but for one thing: the sides rose too high and cut into my ankles. I walked in them for a while because everything else was so great, I'm sad to return them. My ankles shouldn't have to get calloused for an office shoe.

My boyfriend has very wide feet and suffers from plantar faciitis. When he walks he rolls his foot inward requiring Good Feet lime green insoles in all his shoes which helps the plantar fasciitis. The roll bar technology in these shoes really helps keep his feet from rolling inward and he found that he did not need the Good Feet insoles, he was amazed. He can be a 3EEE, or a 4EEEE, with these shoes he is a 4EEEE. He can be an 8½ or a 9, with these shoes he is an 8½. He loves these shoes and wears them everyday!

Nice lightweight soft comfortable shoe. The navy color I ordered looks more like grey to me . . . as in the photos which I like very much. Top of shoe is well ventilated with small holes which does not take away from the overall appearance. This ventilation along with very soft pliable materials makes this a super comfortable shoe. BRAVO !!
