  • The North Face Kids by Kikori Rain Triclimate® Jacket (Little Kids/Big Kids) Posted: Jan 30, 2015 Reviewer: from San Francisco, CA Overall: 5 Stars Comfort: 5 Stars Look: 5 Stars
I was looking for a rain jacket that was warm but thin enough for my son to store in his backpack at school, something that was important to him. This two-in-one jacket fit the bill. It has a thin waterproof hoody shell with a warm fleece inner jacket compact enough to fit in his backpack.

A very warm and cozy jacket. I am 5'8, 120 lbs, 34C and ordered the small and medium. The small gives a fitted look, the medium is not much different but is a more "normal" jacket look, still slim but a little looser. As far as colors, I looked at this jacket on many sites and they all showed the colors as different on their sites so I didnt know what I would be receiving. I ordered two different colors and zappos has the closest color match altho still not right on. The myrtle green is actually an emerald green. In sunlight it looks a light emerald, inside it looks a dark emerald. The greystone blue color is actually blue and not grey as it looks on most sites. It is close to a navy blue but with grey and purple overtones. It is very attractive and looks good with jeans as well. The back being slightly longer and curved is very nice. My only complaint (Im a bit picky and a bit of a fashionista) is that overall its a bit boring. Very nice fit, very cozy and warm, good solid design tho and that's why Im still keeping them both. (:
  • The North Face by Riverdale Trench Triclimate® Jacket Posted: Jan 30, 2015 Reviewer: Mica Silverman from United States Overall: 2 Stars Comfort: 2 Stars Look: 3 Stars
Beware: runs very small in the shoulders! plus some other issues. After wearing this coat frequently for 2 months I have to say that the narrow shoulder space still bothers me every time I wear it; that is when I wear the trench on top of the liner jacket. Separate, they fit ok in the shoulders. The trouble is also, that the narrowness in the shoulders is way out of proportion to the added space in the hips. This is good for some women, but if you have wider shoulders this coat will be uncomfortable, even if you up-size. I am average/slim in size and height, usually wear an M in all coats and jackets, in most sweaters an S. I had to send this back, (ordered from Backcountry- check out their reviews for a more balanced reality) for an L, but even the L is still slightly snug in the wrong place; the liner jacket huge around my waist, the trench very big around my butt. In the end, I decided to keep the L for the water-proof feature of the fabric, which is hard to find anywhere else, and it can be redeemed by wearing the belt in different creative ways. The idea of the tri-climate design is great, especially having the options of two jackets in one. Both are made in good quality, the coat is very warm, the style timeless. However, I would have expected a better cut from The Northface. Also, the hood is a joke, if you expect your face to stay dry in the rain. At this price it should come with two way zippers & the belt should be about 3 inches longer. Somewhat disappointing and would not recommend to my friends; unless she is petite and pear shaped.

About Jackets & Coats

No matter what part of the country you live in, or what time of the year it is, everyone needs a jacket or coat that is functional yet stylish.

A staple for everyone’s closet should be a selection from The North Face® fleece jacket or the Columbia® winter coat collections. They will keep you nice and toasty inside and most come with multi-functional zip pockets to keep your hands and your personal items warm and dry.

Even in the spring and summer months, a light-weight or soft-shell jacket is sometimes needed indoors when the air conditioning is still cranked up. For women, something as simple as a Hurley® jacket or an adidas® Originals track jacket will do just the trick.

For the men, a nice Ugg® leather jacket or Cole Haan® trench coat should be a part of your professional attire. For a nice dinner out on the town, look into a Moschino® blazer paired with a pair of designer jeans. Going for a more casual look, an Alpha Industries® nylon bomber jacket or Cutter & Buck® suede bomber jacket is the right choice.

Back-to-school is the perfect time to find that much needed jacket or coat for your child. Whether it’s a Western Chief® Kids raincoat for those in the Northwest, a Spyder® Kids down jacket for those in the Midwest or North East, or The North Face® Kids fleece jackets for those in the Southwest or Southeast, Zappos has just the functionality and style you’re looking for. Check out adidas® Kids track jackets, Nike® Kids hoodies or DC® Kids pullovers for those kids who refuse to wear jackets or coats.
