First off, let me tell you that I've has surgery twice on each foot, so even with a lower heel, these were a gamble. But I trusted the Rockport name--and Zappos amazing return policy--and have been delighted with these boots. I have walked over a mile at a time on city streets, walked around the office all day, been on my feet on trains, with zero discomfort. The boots are beautiful a nice soft black, in a rich, soft leather. Shaft is lightly padded and fits my we'll-muscled calf without binding. I wear a low- to mid-height sock or hosiery, depending on what look I want.

I love Frye boots! They are so comfortable and look great. I have the veronica boots in the tall and short. These boots look great with jeans, shorts, dresses and pretty much everything. I did find this boot to run a little small. Usually I wear an 8, and have other Frye styles in an 8, but had to size up to an 8.5.

This boot fits very narrow. I could not wear them with a normal sock. I had no choice but to return them.
