I bought these for my four-year-old beginner ballerina and she is very pleased with them. We chose a split sole which is supposed to be easier than the full sole for young feet to point their toes properly. My daughter has wide feet and these fit comfortably even over cotton tights. I will point out that the elastic strap needs to be trimmed and sewn together to fit the wearer and also is attached a little too far back on the slipper causing the strap to cross rather high up on the ankle instead of the instep. The straps can be moved, of course.

My 5 year old daughter loves these shoes and they are absolutely adorable! Like the previous reviewer stated, you do need to sew the straps, and the straps start pretty far back, but they are meant to be sewn in a criss cross pattern which should help. If you look up the shoes on the Bloch website, you can see an example.

With specific guidelines from the dance studio, we searched for these shoes in the studio-recommended online stores. No one stocked my daughter's size. Zappos had the right size and color in stock, and I appreciate the generous return policy since we weren't sure these shoes would fit. We will order again from Zappos when she outgrows this pair! Thank you!
