I began coping with planter fasciitis last month, and recovery for this injury is slow. These shoes literally improved my gait right away, and three days of living in these have eliminated most pain in my foot, heel and calf. I am faithfully doing all the stretches I need to do, too.

I went with Birkenstock because of their reputation for natural repairable/recyclable materials. So I was surprised to find the toe post of this sandal is made of hard plastic. Unfortunately, it kind of hurt to wear them because the plastic is unyielding. Too bad Birkenstock doesn't use leather for the toe post instead. Had to exchange for another Birkenstock style.

These are super comfortable. I keep trying Birks on at the store but get scared away by the price. These are cheaper because it's not a leather upper. I loved them. They felt a little weird when I put them on due to the way the sole is but after a day or two of walking around at home they felt great. I will not be taking them off for the rest of the summer.
I'd also recommend: Dansko, Uggs

This is a fantastic shoe. Similar to the Gizeh but easier to walk in, as the double strap holds your foot in place better than the Gizeh. The silver color is gorgeous and the footbed is the usual Birkenstock quality - great and gets better as you break it in. These were comfortable out of the box for me. I had no issues with the center foot strap bunching, so wonder if that might be the result of someone who bought a size too small. Runs true to Birkenstock sizing but not Zappos (who seriously needs to adjust their size chart to be consistent with Birkenstock's). I wear a 6 in almost all shoes and wear a 36 in Birks, not a 37.
I'd also recommend: Vasque, Keen, Dansko, Chaco

Cute and comfortable, these are a great pair of shoes. I bought them because I had a silver pair that were a different style, but wore them out. These are nice because they are kind of a "gladiator" style, but your feet aren't killing you at the end of the day. They look nice with capris, and the silver matches with pretty much everything. I am wearing them as I write this review!

I love these shoes and have been waiting for them to show up on Zappos again. This is my second pair - love this style! Extremely comfortable even after wearing them all day! I love Zappos' service!
