Bern Reviews
FYI this helmet is not made with Bern's Zipmold foam as described, it's the EPS -- it's confusing because they use their various foams on the same model, for different purposes. EPS is lighter but bulkier, and suited for the highest impacts; Zipmold is the most low-profile. However this helmet is still MUCH less bulky than most on my head -- much better than the Nutcase, for example.
Great fit and comfortable. Ventilation is not as extensive as on a racing-style helmet but is still manageable.
Great helmet. It is very light and easy to adjust. I just used it snowboarding 3 weeks ago and it performed very well. The removable liner is a nice feature as well.
Probably one of the most stylish bicycle helmets out there, and it doesn't scream "Hey, I'm wearing a helmet." I have a big head, and the large is very snug on me. You can unsnap and remove the baseball cap lining, which makes the helmet not as comfortable, but a bigger fit, for wearing over your own hat or something. Could be more vents, but not too big a deal.
I'm an average size girl and it looks good! Not too big - got the matte grey and I'm a fan. Glad the winter addition can be added later if I want to use it for a snowboarding trip!
Super cute helmet. I never thought those words would adjoin in the same sentence. It adjusts to fit comfortably and the visor does not seem to obstruct my view. Comfy, breathable, and compliments abound!
The Brentwood model is a great commuter helmet. A good option if don't want to go a racing style helmet but enough air flow to keep your head cool. I especially liked it because it one of a few brands that carry a XXL model (7 3/4 hat size). The fit was perfect but be sure of your size because there is no ratchet adjusting in the back that you find on the racing helmets.
This helmet is awesome! It's a little heavier than traditional bike helments, but it feels really good and fits perfectly. The chin strap has plenty of adjustment length and is soft and comfortable. And the neon yellow definitely captures the attention of drivers who may not be looking for a cyclist. I removed the lining, rinsed it in cool tap water, and it was dry overnight. This is a very cool helmet!
This is a quality helmet. Though it is a tiny bit heavy and could use a few more vents, it will serve my needs for years to come.
Awesome helmet. It's so cute. It's not as light as my Giro helmet, but I got the Bern helmet to protect my head and to look cute with my vintage cruiser bike. Love!
As a girly girl with a big ol' head I was having a very hard time finding a helmet that would fit and not look horrible...until this helmet. It fits well and I love the lil brim. Well done.
I love this helmet. It is very comfortable, feels very safe, and definitely stylish. My only complaint is that the visor blocks my (upper) peripheral vision when I'm riding my road bike with my hands on the lower part of the handlebars, but I have ordered a replacement summer liner with no visor, and I'm hoping that will do the trick.
I just started biking around my city and this helmet fits perfectly! It's not too big where I feel like I'm wearing a deep sea diving helmet but not too small where I don't feel protected. It doesn't move around when I'm looking over my shoulder or riding down a bumpy road/trail. The visor keeps the sun out of my eyes and it doesn't block my view when I have to look up for whatever reason. Some helmets I've head in the past pressed really hard against my head and gave me a headache but this one doesn't do that. Plus, it's a nice style and color for a girl!
