These are the coolest looking shoes. They are a bit odd fitting and I think I'm going to deal with it just to wear them. The arch support hits early, just off the heel. I ordered an 8 and there is 1 1/2 inches of deep space past my toes and the leather of the shoes bumps against the nail of my big toe. Okay, now that just sounds weird but I have normal feet. Room only for a thin sock. The bottom of the shoe is very slick and needs roughing up. I need to really wear them but we are buried in cold and snow and haven't worn anything but wool socks and boots.

Great bag, and there is a snap under the buckle! So you don't have to actually unbuckle every time you want in.

Full disclosure: I ordered these exact boots from another site about a year ago. (they were not on Zappos at the time otherwise I would have ordered them here-love you Zappos!;) Unfortunately they were ridiculously too big, and the leather and distressing was totally different on each boot to the point that they didn't even look like a matching set, so back they went. Well I decided to try again and this time it's a win. I am between an 8 and and 8.5, I decided to get the 7.5 and they fit perfectly. I am 5'7 and they hit just under my knee. I have skinny calves and they are snug and don't slouch down unless I want them to. I got the Rustic Tan color-they are very distressed and I have a feeling they might vary from pair to pair, which would explain why I got a weird batch last time. I was worried they might feel too beat up but I think they are beautiful. Mine look exactly like the pictures. I love them this time around.

Right. So I've had these shoes for just over a year and while they still feel great and, for the most part, look great...they're falling apart. The crepe sole of the shoe is pretty much worn through, the sole on the heel is coming detached, the inner lining was torn up after one weekend of use and now a year later is just...rags. The final blaaaaaaaah came when the stitching that literally holds the heel box of the shoe together just burst. I'll admit this is a super comfortable and great looking shoe, but two seasons of use shouldn't leave it in pieces.

Very comfy, stylish boots. The tall shaft is nice for tall women like me (5'8"). I ended up dying the blackish color boots to solid black and so far that has worked great.

I like these boots. The black color was very close to the picture and it seems like it's going to wear/distress well in the toe and other areas that get a lot of exposure. The polish was not fully dry when I received them, so I went over them with a cloth to get the excess off. The leather was stiff at first, especially around the top edge but it broke in very quickly.

Unlike all the other reviewers, i had to order a half size *down* for these shoes. Interestingly, the 2nd pair had a significantly darker patina (which I liked) indicating that each pair is unique. Being that a large criteria for me is the color of leather, this was important to learn. Shoes are super comfy; as others say yes they are very slippery and I do worry how they will hold up over time. Comfy like slippers does not always mean good for walking all over the place.

So, I've had these boots for 2 years now and they are still my favorite! I bought the black and one year later, I bought the tan. After two years of wear the black ones have held up like crazy. The heel caps need to be replaced and I probably need to get some dark polish around the top near the laces as the black color has worn off a little (not enough to bother me) through handling. That is to be expected. Especially since I wear these or the tan ones or my Frye boots almost every day of the fall, winter and well into spring. They look great with skirts, dresses and jeans. The tan ones have shown no wear at all after a year. As far as size goes I would suggest you either go to the store to try them on or order your size and one size up to compare. I bought my normal size 7.5. I would disagree with the reviewers that say it runs big. In my case, both pairs are comfortable with a thin pair of socks. I have worn them with thicker socks when it was very cold making them a little snug but not uncomfortably so. These are very comfortable boots as long as you don't have foot issues. I walk in them a lot. I am 5'4", 125 lbs, and these come to just under my knees and fit my calves with the laces tightly closed. One reviewer stated that the bulge under the laces bothered her and when I saw these online I was worried it would bother me too. In fact, I put off buying them because of it. Then one day I was bored shopping and saw these. I had to try them on and once I did there was no going back! The bulge doesn't bother me at all and I am very picky about fit. Every single time I wear these I get compliments. Women (and men) stare at them in public. Ladies, you know that this is the ultimate compliment!! I also have the Arcane boot from Bed Stu. I haven't owned them long enough to comment on comfort or wear, yet but I would say that Bed Stu is doing something very right. Their shoes and boots look, smell, feel and wear like a much more expensive product. And I personally love the distressed, handmade look of them. I only worry that I will never find a boot I love as much and I'll be wearing these when I'm 85. If you are thinking about it, go ahead and get them. You won't regret it!

They come extremly over-sized. I ordered a half size smaller than I usually do based on review comments and they were still at least half a size too big.

I usually never write a review because no one would care what a stranger writing a boot review Valentine's Day thinks anyway. But, these are some sweet boots! Get 'em if you are on the fence. I know I was at first. I hate zippers on any of my shoes and these have two of them! I think most times zippers cheapen a boot but rest assured this feature does not, in my opinion. The fit is true maybe slightly snug but I think that is the style. Great with jeans! Always looking for an opportunity to wear them. I would buy a second pair if I could so I have a back up if the first pair goes south. Trust a guy who has a slightly dissatisfied wife because I have more shoes than her and I am writing a boot review on Valentine's Day. Do it brother!

Great looking and feeling boots. Definitely a full size larger. I can't wear a 13 in anything, normally I'm a 14, but the 13 in these boots fit perfect.

I really do like these shoes which was fortunate but the color looks absolutely NOTHING like the picture. I get that with any weathered or antiqued look like this there's bound to be some minor variations in color and the pattern of the wear and all that, but this is kind of ridiculous. That dark brown in the picture doesn't exist on the shoes I got instead in its place there's a crumbly and sparse black chipping away to reveal a light cardboardish color. Still pretty cool boots but they're hardly even black. I usually enjoy scuffing my boots but these are so worn in already I have to be careful otherwise literally all the black on them will be gone soon. If you're looking for a weathered pair of BLACK boots like I was then seriously do not get these. I kept them anyway because despite looking nothing like the color pictured on this website, they are still undeniably stylish and comfortable.

They look great but, unfortunately, they didn't hold up very well on my slightly wide foot. Within a week, the stitches were pulling out of where the vamp (?) meets the toe and a few months later, the leather in the heel began to tear away from the sole. Again, I have slightly wide feet and have had plenty of shoes fail, just not this quickly.

The photo is gorgeous, but when the boot arrived, the leather on the foot was a significantly darker shade than the material on the shin.

One of my favorite shoes that I own. I wear these almost daily. Their color can be a little different than shown here, but I believe that is due to the dying process on various leathers. They scuff relatively easy especially if you scrape your toe on something, and if they get soaked in heavy rain, they may stain a bit, but even after all this, they look great. And even without arch support or much padding, they fit comfortably instantly, and my feet are never sore.

I feel like this is way overpriced for the quality. The leather is a very weird, hard materials (not soft and supple like I expected). The canvas strap was already frayed around the stitching, the canvas dye is coming off all over my hands, and the tag says made in china, so the price just seems way too high for this product. I bought a comparable product for nearly half the price on another site a while back, so I may end up returning this and seeing if I can find something for a better value.

A beautiful and unique boot. I loved the leather lacing and red threading and red sole. I find they are true to size but run narrow and I have never worn a wide shoe. Not sure I can wear socks with them. I would prefer if the shaft had been lined but you are able o appreciate the good quality leather. The lower zip and lacing make them not a great airport shoe, however, take a few minutes to get them on but really stylish. The distressing is obvious so not a dress/formal or office boot. A little heel cushioning would be nice too. Would buy more from this company.

I kept them, but paid additionally to get them resoled. I kept them because I loved the platform height, but was disappointed in their quality. They just do not feel substantial, and the soles were a slippery plastic.

I love these boots! They are amazing on! I have very muscular calves and the adjustable laces make these a keeper for me! I would even admit they make my calves appear smaller than they are which is a huge plus for me! However, I usually wear a 9.5 and I know this brand runs big so I ordered the 9 and I am returning for the 8.5.

Color is different than what is pictured more of a black and light tan, in the picture it looks black and brown. The most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. Super cute, goes with everything. Will buy more from the brand.
