Awesome boot and great quality! Wear a 10-1/2 and bought a 10-1/2 and fits true to size. Will continue to buy Bates boots for motorcycle riding as long as they keep the same quality! Zappos is great, received my order real fast, Thanks to all you Zappos!!!!!

Now this is exactly what a riding boot is supposed to be. Good quality, heavy leather. Waterproof. Excellent sole. Full zipper. Easy to slip on and take off. The shoe was a little short for a size 10. True to width. Excellent styling. Really can t ask for more.

If you're a vertically challlenged rider like myself, these shoes will give you the extra reach and confidence that you've been looking for. These boots are comfortable and built like a tank. I use them each time I ride. There is a slight adjustment period required if you've never worn shoes like. Since the heels give you some much needed height some people might find the incline a bit weird at first but it took me one riding/wearing session to get totally used to the fit. These are not "lifts" or "elevator shoes" but they do give you a few extra inches of height due to the generous heel. If you're looking for some extra reach, a great quality boot, and crazy good service then I would highly recommend these from Zappos!

Five minutes after arriving, I laced them up for the first time to try them on and an eyelet popped right out of the boot. I don't blame Zappos, but Bates boots seem to have gone downhill.

The eyelets for the laces on this boot are tight to pass the laces through. The real problem is that the first time this boot was worn, and the laces pulled to tighten, an eyelet ripped off the boot. Don't see how the other eyelets could stand up to wear if one pops off the first time. Returned.

Nice looking boot, with rugged construction. Order your size only with very heavy sock...otherwise get 1/2 size smaller. This boot did require some break-in time, however after several uses the boot now remains part of my collection!

I was looking for some really sturdy but nice looking boots for the Chicago snow. Considering the sole on this boot, I thought they would be awesome, but they are not. They are extremely heavy, hard to walk in, and are not nearly as stylish in person as they were on the website. My search for stylish snow boots continues.

Great looking boot, but very bulky to walk in. I ordered a 7.5 and needed at least a 7. Just a bit too clunky with tights and a very heavy boot, so I suspect my legs would be weary if I had kept these. I returned them because of the fit and the bulk. If you can pull off this look they are great looking!

A real "moto" boot. Encases your foot for total protection. Great for riding but not for walking. Inflexible sole, stiff leather, no arch support, my feet ached after 30 minutes around the house. Too bad. Love the look.

Wanted to like these boots, but didn't. Color not quite right, too stiff, didn't fit well, style not that great, toe looks weird...

Took a bit to get the tightness of the laces right as relates to side-zipper access. After about two months of riding they have broken in nicely! I feel they were good for the money!

Great boot! More of a true American motorcycle boot than some of the other narrower European styles. whether you ride a bike or not this boot has great rugged style. The quality is fantastic, 10 out of 10. On par with boots made in U.S. or Europe. Leather is thick and soft with reinforced stitching all over. whether you pull your pants over the boot or tuck them in, you're going to look bad ass. And with a slightly wider toe box/rounded toe and a chunky sole the look is much less cowboy, and more biker-chic. Comfort, style, quality, it's the whole package.

Bought these boots for commuting in south Florida. The zipper style makes it very easy to take boots on/off, which is nice because I change into dress shoes when I get to work. It rains here a lot, so I've already ridden with these boots in the rain several times. Feet were not wet from rain, but were from foot perspiration. In fact these boots are really hot, especially in a warm climate. But then most waterproof boots are warm due to the construction needed to make them waterproof. So it's a trade off. With my rain pants on, and the pant cuffs properly secured, these boots perform well. I tested the nylon areas on the sides of the boots under the kitchen faucet, and I did not feel any moisture with my hand inside the boot. I do wonder if the nylon area will need to be maintained with Scotchgard in the future. The tongue is designed properly to shed water, so water does not get in there either. Only issue I have is one of the zippers gets stuck. And the velcro zipper cover flaps cause a slight pressure point on the side of my leg. But this seems to be breaking in over time. I have very bad feet (plantar fasciitis and plate tears), and these boots are fairly good orthotically. Very few shoes are comfortable to me, but these are as good as it gets. If you have arch related foot problems too, try these out, they work well for me regarding comfort and limiting foot pain. I am very happy with these boots.

I have used Zappos for all of my film needs. The selection and service is a plus and they have both.

Initially leery because they are made in China but they fit well, look great and are comfortable enough to walk in for long periods of time too.

Just got them so don't know about comfort yet. Very hard to get on initially. Heel is very rigid. Once on, a good fit. Beautiful boots and seem very well made.
