Best snow boots ever. I tried boots by Cougar, North Face, Sorel, Kamik and Pajar, returning them all as they let me down in turn, and these were the winners, by a mile and a half. I'm a dog walker and trainer in NYC, walking 12 to 20 miles each day no matter what the weather is doing. I have to be able to get around quickly...I can't stop and gingerly step around huge mounds of snow and gutter ponds if I want to stay on schedule...and these were comfortable enough to allow me to walk briskly and kept my feet dry even as I stepped in snow and slush (though it is worth mentioning that the tongue is gusseted only half-way up this boot, probably because the removable liner wouldn't be removable otherwise). My old Sorel Joan of Arctics are officially retired now - I didn't realize how heavy and unsupportive they were until I tried these. To summarize, a list of the pros: 1) These are as waterproof as snow boots come. I won't say they're completely waterproof because anything with seams is going to be at least slightly permeable (ya know, holes, thread). So aside from buying Hunters or similar wellies and putting warm liners inside, these are as dry as it gets, in my opinion. After a full day of wear in the post-blizzard city, the inside of the boot itself was slightly moist, but the inside of the liner was dry, as were my socks. 2) Super lightweight and comfy. They feel like sneakers, flexible and supportive with lots of cushion. And the soft material above the solid base allows for full range of motion in the ankle, no stiffness whatsoever, unlike Sorels, which kill your ankles until broken in (and would never become this comfortable anyway). The sole is curved at the heel and toe, yet again making walking infinitely easier than in flat Sorels. 3) Warm! Your feel will never get cold in these, unless you have a major circulation problem. The lining is made of quilted Thinsulate and is removable, held inside by Velcro. It's like a boot all on its own, has a rubber sole and everything, and is covered with water-repelling fabric. This is why feet stay dry in this boot. 4) Cool features! They have carrying bags in zipper pouches on the back of each boot. I intend to take the bags out and use the pouches as hiding places for cash and other important, small items. They also have a hook and tab that can connect the back of the boot to the front, in case you want to sleekify them, I guess when putting them inside the bags. 5) Good, deep tread that grips ice and snow well. 6) Unique appearance. The lavender (with purple accents) is so surprising and lovely on a winter boot, in a sea of primary, dark and neutral colors. And now for the only thing keeping these from being perfect (I won't call it a con because these are so close to perfection): 1) As almost every other reviewer mentioned, these are noisy when you walk. It's pretty obviously the sound of the lining shifting and rubbing within the boot...not a squeak, not an obnoxious sound, just a sort of creak. I shrugged it off immediately, not just because I feel the pros justify this, but because I'm not the sort to get embarrassed if people on the train glance up to see whose shoes are noisy and find that they're mine (which no one actually did anyway). So what? There's a vagrant scratching himself and groaning in the corner seat and a girl plucking her eyebrows next to me, I'm pretty sure my class is still intact despite my vaguely flatulent boots (I'm kidding, the noise isn't farty). And anyone in your office who would be snarky about your noisy-yet-fabulous boots deserves to get achy arches, cramped calves and cold feet wearing her yay-I-look-so-apres-ski-even-though-I'm-nowhere-near-a-slope Sorels.

I liked the look of these so I bit the bullet and ordered, 3 pair, not being sure what color I would like. I kept 2 pair and probably should have kept all 3. I LOVE these boots. I can wear them all day and not have sore feet. Even my bone spur doesn't give me grief!

I love these, they are comfortable and super warm. They do run small - I'm normally an 8.5-9 and even the 9 was too small; I got a 9.5. Unfortunately, I have somewhat narrow calves so the 9.5s are a little baggier at the ankle than the 9 but I don't care. I mainly wear them to commute in NYC, then change in the office. I agree that they aren't a true brown but I don't think gray is right either, maybe somewhere in between. Kind of a heathery brown.

I ordered the Teva along with the Keen CNX and a similar Ahnu. The Teva was the heaviest of the three, with lots of support, but the backstrap was not comfortable regardless of how I adjusted it. I liked the click strap across the front to tie it down. But of the three the Ahnu was the most comfortable and I went with it.

The strap is not adjustable at all. And I was left with a full 2 inches from the top of my foot to the strap. The shoe itself also fit large.

Comfy, cozy, stylish, and very waterproof. Wore these through over a foot of snow, and my feet stayed warm and dry the whole time. Not bulky - they look way better than most snow boots! A little snug with thick socks on, so order a half size up if you plan to wear them with thick socks! (But they keep me plenty warm even with thin socks!)

I love these boots. I wanted a pair of tall black boots with a low heel that I could wear with a variety of pants and leggings during the cold weather months. These boots were super comfortable right out of the box and I have worn them all day without any discomfort. I was a little worried about the wider calf because I like a slim-looking boot and don't have particularly large calves. The way the boots are constructed, with clever gores and stretchy material, they end up being very versatile in terms of fit. I can fit straight-leg jeans or slightly baggier yoga pants into them, but they still look sleek enough to wear with leggings. They get a bit dirty and salty in the winter but a quick wipe with a damp cloth cleans them right up. They are not the warmest boots in the world but are great for slipping on to run errands or go shopping. I wish the buckles had a little more pizazz but all in all this is a great boot. I normally wear an 8.5 but ordered the 9 based on previous reviews and they fit perfectly.

Love these boots. Leather is beautiful. Very comfortable. They look great with a casual skirt or jeans. I'm sure I will be wearing these for years to come.

These really are great sandals for walking around in or for pool use. I got them to use in the pool, but I love wearing them around too. I may even order a second pair. They are a wonderful sandal you won't be disappointed.

Love my new boots! These are so comfortable and stylish. The selling point for me was the fact that I could put my custom orthotics in these, something I find difficult to do with most shoes. I normally wear a size 9 M, but to accommodate the orthotics I went up 1/2 size and they work perfectly. No grandma looking boots here -- love them.

Maybe the best hiking sandal I have ever owned. It seems many styles I have tried over the last few years are light and flexible but don't hold up on the trail or for extended wear on pavement. This Teva is very sturdy, has amazing arch support and feels like I could wear all day.

These Tevas are very comfortable, durable and the best looking of Tevas I've seen. As advised by Zappos staff, I bought down a half-size. They were perfect for walking on a beach too hot for bare feet, jungle hiking that involved wading in rivers, and even with a casual dress for dinner -- not haute couture, but they look more like sandals than most Tevas. (One minor problem was that in rougher terrain I had to stop to empty out small rocks once in a while.) I'm planning to get another pair so I'll have one if these wear out. The best part of the purchase, though was Zappos customer service. With free and prompt shipping both ways and helpful, cheerful staff available on the phone, I'll try Zappos first next time. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and with Zappos!

Bought these to wear to my first trip to WDW. After a full four days of running all over the amusement park, my feet felt great. Good for wet conditions and uneven surfaces as well. I could live in these.

These are great comfortable boots with good traction. I have too many boots but am headed north and needed a pair with good traction for snow and ice. I have not worn them in those conditions yet, but these boots have great grip on the slippery and wet surfaces I have walked on so far, so I am confident that they will do well. I tried both the brown and the black and kept the black - I have lots of brown boots and while I liked the brown, I did not love the almost work boot look of the sole color on those, though the rest of the boot was great. I am a 7½-8 and ordered the 8; felt the same in both colors, can accommodate a warm sock but not too thick. It is a warm boot, too, and I have worn it in the rain (but not through deep puddles) comfortably. The black has a little bit of a motorcycle boot look, but I think it is clean enough to pass for a slightly more formal boot too. I really like the canvas in the back - a nice twist. These are super comfortable, too. I definitely recommend them.

These shoes were wonderful! I purchased them for my dad who's getting a bit older and I wanted a handsome looking shoe, without the laces. These were perfect and very comfortable. Additionally, Zappos was amazing in helping with the delivery around Christmas and return for a larger size. Highly recommend both the shoe and ordering through Zappos!

I absolutely love these boots. They have just the perfect bit of color at the back. They are great with jeans and true to size. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on. This is my new favorite pair of shoes.

I wanted to like these shoes, as I have 2 pairs of TEVA that I love. (Which unfortunately Zappos won't be restocking until March, and I need them now). Here is why I didn't - 1) these have a gray foam layer under the colored straps. I suppose it is for comfort, but as the straps don't bother my foot, it is an "add on" that I do not need, and makes the shoe very casual - as in beach, Saturday Farmers Market, or taking my nieces to the playground casual. And while I did want casual, I wanted more "out to lunch with friends" casual. 2) the bed and sole of this shoe is hard core plastic. My Teva's have more a foam bed and sole, which I find much more comfortable, and again, slightly more 'upscale' - if any flip can truly be called upscale! LOL If these things will not bother you, know that the colors are very pretty - the green is a lovely soft grass green that would go with khaki, pinks, pale blues and peach - very versatile. The red is vibrant, but not harsh. Khaki's, navy, white, black - all would look great with the red. The shoe did not fit my needs, so I returned it. But I can certainly see where it would be great for others!

Very comfortable, durable shoe. The sole is thick but doesn't feel heavy. The foot bed is really comfortable.

These are great shoes. They felt comfortable, like my shoes when I put it on - except for the toes. They are too short for me. I got 10, I will try the 11. Too bad there is no 10½.

Excellent sandal! Very comfortable, and true to size. Bought these for a winter get away to the beach. I wish it was summer and I could wear them every day right now.
