Asolo´s goal is to create great footwear for all of your outdoor needs, in all conditions, at all altitudes: from light walking to hiking, from backpacking to the most treacherous climbing - whether it be on ice or mixed terrain. The footwear is designed around the foot; flexible, lightweight, and at the same time, highly resistant. Fit and performance are major strengths for this design. The breathable footwear is able to shock-absorb even on the toughest terrains, while keeping away humidity, water, and cold weather. The highly researched soles are constructed in such a way that they will prevent slips and falls on the most slippery of terrains.
Since the beginning, Asolo is connected with experiences and people who live for the mountain. Together with the brand, they test boots that have been developed for the alpine/mountaineering athletes and for all people who "live" the mountain with love and passion.

I'd rather buy from my locally-owned store than either or chain or the internet. In this case it was hard to fit my Men's 7.5 foot and I bought from Zappos. They are awesome boots. Just did the Inka Trail in Peru, without breaking them in first. They fit like sneakers, feel as light as sneakers, and were perfect. Support local business first, but Zappos was a good backup for an odd size.

This is a really sturdy shoe, well made and fairly comfortable although somewhat stiff. The main drawback is that the soles are EXTREMELY SLIPPERY on wet rocks and wet roots. I\'ve almost fallen everytime there is any moisture on smooth surfaces but they are great on all other surfacees and are nicely waterproofed.

These boots are great. I received them, wore them a total of about 2 hours in the house, just to make sure they felt OK, then took them to Alaska where I wore them for 10 days straight in constant rain, hiking through creeks, rocky trails, and also in town. Totally waterproof, at least up a couple of inches, light, and very good traction. I have a wide foot/high arch, so many boots do not fit (squeeze toes). These are good for me, even on downhills.

I have been wearing the Asolo power magic 200 GV for many years. I changed over to these Asolo Fugitive GTX and very happy I did - very comfortable, lightweight from the first wearing.

One of the best boots I have worn. Good to go from day 1 out of the box, no real break-in period. I spent about 3 weeks straight in them during a military training event without any issues. Not the best cold weather boot when static, but you can't beat it when you are moving.
I'd also recommend: Solomon, GTX

This the third pair of Asolo Fugitive GTX I have purchased. They last long, and have very good arch support.
