So they assembled a group of top footwear engineers and designers, and set them on the task of creating the world's most technically innovative performance riding boots. They started by re-designing the outsole, rethinking the arch support system and finally taking a hard look at the suitability of "traditional" last shape and fit. While they were building the technology platform for Ariat boots, they were also talking to hundreds of top riders who helped in the design and development of the final product.
In 1993, Ariat shipped their first pair of boots, and today Ariat is the world leader in performance equestrian footwear, offering a full range of English and Western riding boots, work boots and casual footwear — plus new lines of performance apparel and accessories to fully outfit today´s equine athletes and equestrian-inspired lifestyle enthusiasts.
Whether you are a professional equestrian athlete or a novice rider, you will find an Ariat boot with the performance technology that is perfect for you. Ariat boots cushion the foot while stabilizing the heel and arch, dramatically reducing fatigue and stress to the feet, legs and lower back. This amazing technology can also be found in a variety of casual Ariat shoes — providing you with comfortable and stylish alternative for those relaxed, easy-going days.

I still rave about these boots. I couldn't believe I had never heard of the brand before, but I plan on buying at least a couple more pairs, possibly even of the same model. Their comfort level exceeds that of any boot I've bought, but they did require about a week's worth of wearing in. And while I'm no rider, I do plenty of walking and these boots have shown me no grief thus far. On the other hand, I'm a slight klutz and the boots have endured a decent amount of erosion and spills. But alas, they are invincible! And they look great. I'm about 5'4" and they hit me mid-calf, which normally wouldn't be too flattering, but surprisingly, and to my delight, were. I ordered them in 7B, and I'm pretty sure the size influences the height of the boot, and so the fit may not be the same for others. On another note, the boots have great traction, and I feel safe walking across any surface. They slide on and off with ease, but don't feel loose. All in all, this is a wonderful boot, and if you're caught between this and a Frye, ditch the Frye. I own a pair of Frye's and their comfort level doesn't compare.

Nice looking but couldn't put them on feet! We had no idea how we were supposed to get these on. There wasn't enough room to slip them on.

I was going away for a weekend visiting friends and horseback riding, but I had forgotten to order the boots I needed. Robin, at Zappos, was a lifesaver. She helped me with my purchase, and made sure they were shipped on time for the weekend. The boots looks good and fit great. Thanks Zappos.

I got these at lunch time today and have been wearing them for almost 8 hours now. The great thing for me is that for the past few months, I have suffered with ball of the foot/metatarsal pain. These boots have completely relieved the pain. I have another pair of Ariats and I like them, but these are just wonderful. I can't say enough good things about them. They are stiff enough to provide the support my sore foot needs. I find Ariats run a half size off. I usually wear a 7.5, but take an 8 in Ariat. Once I established that (with the other boot) all Ariat size 8 fit.
I'd also recommend: Dansko, Orthaheel

I like this boot a lot. But please take note, if you usually wear a size 10 1/2, an 11 may be too large and although a size 10 may be difficult to put on, it will be a good fit overall. Zappos has by far the best customer service of any store, anywhere...ever!
I'd also recommend: Born, Ugg, Mephisto, Keen

Great boots! I liked the first pair so much that I purchased a second pair in black. While some boots feel clunky and loud, these have an understated, simple elegance. They go well with jeans or dresses and even shorts. I like that the soles are made of a rubbery type material that doesn't make a loud noise while I walk. The boot’s toes give my toes a little wiggle room. Very comfortable.
