Given the extent of the process used, it was hard to find artists that were willing to spend hours in a factory painting these elaborate designs on handbags. When faced with the challenge, Anuschka's® co-founder, Roma, set out to look for unemployed youths with a basic sense of art and an eagerness to make an honest living. Through her search she recruited a handful of boys and girls who were either unemployed, socially backward or barely making minimum wage. Today, Anuschka® continues to afford these young artists the chance to make a good living and provide for their family through painting handbags.
Translated, Anuschka® means "like no other". The first time you lay eyes on these truly unique handbags, you will undoubtedly agree that that is the perfect descriptoion of this line of hand painted bags. Anuschka® handbags are crafted from superior quality soft cow leather. The line features a wide array of bags and accessories, ranging from cosmetic cases and checkbook holders to everyday totes and evening bags. Every one of Anuschka's® handbags are decorated with a selection of abstract and natural scenes all depicted in muted colors in a variety of shades and hues. Through this process, each handbag is transformed into a one of a kind object of timeless art.

For some time I've been looking for a lightweight, spacious, versatile leather bag that can sit on the floor beside me, holding my knitting equipment and, with panache, dispensing my current project. Anuschka's #480 fills the bill perfectly. Whereas a hobo might not open widely enough, #480 yawns just right. Its dual rope handles dangle on either side as my bag gapes patiently at my feet--all the better to rummage around in, my dears. Anuschka is an extravagance for such a purpose, you say? Ah well, the truth is that the knitting is merely the excuse. I just love the look, feel, and smell of these wonderful bags, and I can only carry one at a time. This one's my house pet. Hubby thinks they're too flamboyant (so I should settle for sedate?), but I say, hey, I'm a girl! And this girl loves Anuschka.
I'd also recommend: Anuschka is "like no other."

I absolutely love this bag. I got the antique rose design, there are so many pockets with zippers inside and out and there is one slip pocket on the front prefect for my phone. It is very well made and worth the money. I have had so many compliments even one from a man. It is one I will not be putting in the bag drawer for quite some time. The handles are the perfect length also.
I'd also recommend: coach, stone mountain, anything real leather.

This is an absolutely beautiful handbag. The art work is creative and the colors brilliant. The leather is soft and supple, and despite its size, is very light-weight. The handles are very sturdy and can be worn over the shoulder as well as in the crook of the arm. There are plenty of pockets and zippered compartments to keep me organized. My only complaint is the depth of the bag. Even with all my stuff in it (and thers's a lot), there's so much room near the top, that it flops over when I set it down, a minor irritation.

I loved this bag, is so beautiful and I got a lot of compliments. It so roomy and able hold all the stuffs in it, inside zipper hold my important cards and had two inside pockets that hold my reading glass and pens and lipstick, lip gloss and a mirror. I able to put my iPad in it or book and able to hold my wallet. Even a small bottle water! They came so quickly, I receive it in three days! Outside back pocket had one zipper hold my keys, or mails and small pocket that fit perfectly for my cellphone. On the front had two zippers pockets, able to put my coupons/train tickets in it t and bottom zipper pocket hold my changes (coins/moneys) when I need it for a quick to put coins in a meter or bus, that way you don't have to get the wallet out. This is a great bag, is worth it and use it for many years. Excellent, soft, well-made quality leather too.
I'd also recommend: my next choice to buy another Anuschka's bags.
