Camino tested!! I walked 800 kilometers last summer in these boots on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, made famous in the movie "The Way" with Martin Sheen, from the cold rain in the steep Pyrenees mountains in France to the hot dry meseta. I'm a redhead with ultra sensitive skin. My feet held up beautifully. While other people ended up in the hospital with blisters, and my own daughter -- in different boots -- started wearing fitness sandals because her feet were so battered, these fabulous Ahnu Montara boots (in gorgeous purple) carried me in style and comfort the entire way. I received my Compostela in August, and although it is the tradition to throw your boots in the sea when you continue on to Finisterre, I could not part with these terrific boots. They are light yet strong and worked well in downpours, thick mud, steep ascents and descents. Ahnu Montara boots were the most important piece of gear I carried. I highly, highly recommend them. On a long distance trail, boots make or break your trip. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say I wouldn't have made it without them. :) I saw many boots from many different nations on my Camino, but none as spectacular yet functional as these incredible hikers.

What a beautiful shoe. Soft leather upper with fun faces. Suede heel is a nice touch. Unfortunately, it does have a nice arch support right in the spot that hurts for me. Back it goes. I love the shape of the toe and am disappointed that this shoe didn't work out.

I work in wine production, and my light brown Chacos were nearing the end of their life when I saw these. Waterproof shoes that will not show wine stains!? I am sold! When I first got them the size 6 was a little tight on my wideish feet, but they stretched out nicely with just a few weeks of light wear and thin socks. I was probably the only one who did not get wet feet during the 2013 harvest season at my winery because of these shoes, so the water proofing is legit. After two years of dedicated work wear, the rubber is starting to separate from the leather upper, allowing water to seap in. Nothing some shoe-goe probably could not fix, but alas I have switched jobs and now require safety-toed shoes. When these started to get a little too grungy to wear outside of work, I got a pair of the Sugarpine shoes and they are even better (no tightness even on day one), and just as waterproof.

I absolutely adore these shoes! I got them in the winetasting color (now out of season, such a bummer!) because I work in the wine industry and I wanted something as good as my Montera Ahnu boots for outside of work. They are so comfortable on my size 6, slightly wide, high-arched feet. I would love them even more if they came with a safety-toe option so I could wear them at work too (hint hint Ahnu). I also love that the company supports Guide Dogs for the Blind, an organization that I have volunteered for for 10 years now.

I bought 3 pairs of oxfords at the same time, and these were/are hands down the most comfortable! I wore them to work the first day I had them and have not looked back. They are comfortable and stylish with skirts and skinny jeans! YES YES YES!

These are really beautiful boots with lots of lovely details. They are true to size but quite tight across my high arches - I am hoping that they will stretch a bit, but with seams in two directions on the top of the foot it is possible that they will always feel a bit snug on the arch. They fit nicely on my smallish calves but would accommodate calves a lot bigger than mine thanks to that elastic at the back. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Nice lightweight boot. Good for short day hikes. Order half size up.

Wow! Very comfortable, easy to put it on and take it off. I walk in them in Spain for 10 to 15 kilometers a day. Not even one blister. I used insoles, because I need an extra arch support. My size is 6.5. I purchased 7. Very light and look super cool. I got lots of complements. Buy them!

I wanted a comfortable shoe for chilly weather on a trip that would require a lot of walking. I did not want it to be clunky and unstylish like a comfort shoe can be. It weathered the trip beautifully. Very comfortable and kept my feet warm and dry.

I bought these shoes in honey. I walked along the winding, hilly roads through Virginia hunt country. Also walking the 130 acre farm. It is muddy at times. I have to dodge manure piles from 30 horses and 15 sheep but the shoes give me the perfect amount of stability that I was looking for. I wore the shoes straight out of the box for a three mile trek and suffered no ill effects. I am not a hiker so I do not have prior experience with hiking boots but I made my purchase based on other reviews. These are extremely light and breathe well. I wear a 6½ in shoes but ordered a 7 which fits perfectly with light weight socks. I am in my mid 60's with arches which have long ago fallen, so I was surprised at the strong arch support. They are easy to slip on and off and keep my feet warm in cold weather. These are good looking shoes.

I absolutely love these shoes. I could wear these all day. I did not have to break them in. They are super comfortable. Like other reviews have said, the Rosin color is a dark greenish color. I like the contrasting leather and suede detailing. Two color shoes laces come with the shoes. They look great with jeans, a short skirt or cropped wool pants.

These are comfortable sandals. I recently wore them on a trip and did a lot of walking in them. My feet did not get tired until late in the day. For a few hours at a time they were quite comfortable. The sandals are a bit loose fitting so I would not wear them for anything but normal city/urban walking.

I love them! Extremely comfortable from the very first time I put them on. Plus I cannot say enough good things about Zappos customer service.

Cute shoe, but it felt like my feet were hanging over the edges, even though I don't have particularly wide feet. The cross straps were a bit tight but I imagine with wear they'd loosen up. I ended up returning and going with the Ahnu Crissy instead.

Good basic shoe with arch support. Perfect for pants that have grown a bit too short for shoes with a higher heel.

I ordered 9 pairs of boots. I chose this pair for the rated arch support and rated warmth. I work outside for 1.75 hours for recess duty. I wore the boots at home to test comfort and they are fine. Warmth, not as much as I would like. Normally, I wear 2 pairs of wool socks with running shoes, but my feet get hot inside the school building. Today, I wore one pair of wool socks with the boots and I have to say, I'm disappointed. It was only 30 degrees outside and after an hour, my feet started to get cold. Claiming that 200g of Thinsulate keeps your feet warm is misleading. I do find them comfortable and easy to put on. I guess I will continue to wear two pairs of wool socks. It is unfortunate that I can't return to Zappos now that they have been worn outside, because that was the only way to truly test for warmth.

Pleasantly surprised. I have been searching for a pair of walking boots for winter and have given up on Keen, my formerly dependable brand. I read the reviews for Montara and decided to try once more for a comfortable fit. I had set back another Ahnu boot because the side seam hurt my foot. These seemed to be made for my foot: narrower at the heel, but with adequate toe room to avoid blisters. I also needed a high boot to accommodate an arthritic ankle. Well, I tested these at home and after four hours, they still feel light and seem to cushion my feet. Also unike other boots, the tops are cushioned and seem to bend easily when I walk. I think these will prove to be what I was looking for, light-weight but supportive. Thanks for the quick service, Zappos.

I get compliments on these shoes all the time. They are sort of elegant and the stitches and laces give them a little something extra. They're extremely comfortable, all day long and right out of the box - no problems at all! These shoes are winners.

I absolutely love this shoe; however, I needed a 5 or at most 5 1/2, and it only came 6 and up. Needless to say, I ordered 2 pair anyway, as I have always loved Ahnu . I gave to wear 2 pairs of socks and they still flop a little but on swollen feet they are okay. I just really hate you are no longer making a lot of the styles in a 5 and will have to find another brand.

These are the best boots I've had in ages. Fit beautifully right out of the box. No adjustment period. Well made. Quality workmanship. I take either a 7.5 or an 8 and in these the 7.5 was comfortable and still roomy in the toes with heavy socks. Fun colors, too.

I always have to try many boots to get the right fit, these felt good immediately. I have very small heels and they fit snug and comfortable. I went for a hike and unfortunately one spot on the boot rubbed my bunions. These are great boots if you do not have bunions.
